I only got:
$9 off for six months of Sunday Ticket (initial offer)
after some pushing and getting put on hold several times:
$5 off for six months of my regular package
$7 off for six months of HBO
So...$126 off my total bill over six months. Last year I got nothing. No discounts, zilch. I am eventually going to have to call their bluff as I am not under contract and can leave at anytime. Oh well...it's done.

I just had my roof done. The satellite was not lined up after the roofers put it back in. Called DirectTV and they said it would be a $50 service fee. I told them to send me to their cancellation department since my contract literally just ended a week ago. They ended up giving me a free service call, free Sunday Ticket for the whole season, and $30 off a month for a year on a year long contract. So my bill sits a $65 a month for the next year for Choice

On the phone with them now.... Not doing so well. I'm speaking to a woman that barely speaks English and has a hard time telling the difference between Sunday Ticket and NFLNetwork... She's offered me a 15% discount on the Ticket. I laughed and told her that was ridiculous -- Especially considering the fact that their prices on their basic packages have gone up.

I got it for free. Talked to some woman in retention. I have no idea why she did it..... And I won't believe it until the account activity clears and shows the credit, but I suppose I should celebrate my lucky day!

Dam it I tried, talked with 2 different reps, I could only get 1 month taken off the bill.I threatened to cancel because the ravens are on local channels down here for 8 games, it didn't work.

i done this 3 years ago . was with direct for over 10 years . i told them i was leaving because of the free nfl to new people . i told them i would be happy just to buy my team for a 100 a year . long story short comcast has great internet and on demand hbo free for 6 months 10 afterwards 2 years of showtime and starz for 2 dollars a month plus fast internet for under 100 a month .
plus i can go back to direct when cable bill goes up and get free nfl sunday ticket .

best time to leave is in jan they would be happy for you to come back . i did get nfl ticket free for that year under that 1 year contract . as soon as i left they start sending me great offers to come back plus a 200 credit card .

Update...... I had to call again about another issue (trying to upgrade equipment). The person I talked to has a difficult time trying to figure out exactly what was done on my account. She seemed quite surprised that I was given full credit for a one-time payment of Sunday Ticket. But it does appear to be credited.

I think some of the article is misleading..... They say it's now available to 'everyone' that CAN'T get Directv..... So, if you're a current or former customer or a homeowner, you're still screwed. Right?

This will be my 1st yr w/o the Tkt in about 11 yrs or so. Of those 11 yrs, about 3 yrs, I got the Tkt for free via , promotion, threatening to cancel, etc.
I was purchasing a new home and Directv called about moving my service to the new location and Comcast called offering expanding services promotion...I already had comcast internet and agree...it's way better than the partner options that DTV had....long story short also...Comcast bundle was 50% less than my DTV to add cable...I took the bait...2 yrs savings over $100 per mo and because I went for the lowest tier of programming...the reg. price will still be a lot lower than DTV.
This happened in FEB...DTV has called be about 5 or 6 times...they've offered free Tkt, $30 off Choice extra for a yr, etc. I asked for the option to pay for the Steeler games that I wasn't already getting for free and Choice extra for $35 (matching Comcast) for 2 yrs. They said no problem on the Choice extra price, but the system wasn't set up to do that with the Tkt.
I stayed with Comcast figuring that I can stream the games not on reg. programming...to this point, I'm okay, but I'll say that DTV customer is better.
