Sty when did our guys play Shanahan in the SB?

We will have to agree to disagree about the zone running game. I love power football but Mike changed the game a good deal with the zone run game. That being said most teams elements of both. Now running backs should hate Mike Shanahan, he devalued them a great deal. In his system you run parallel to the line and make one cut when the hole develops.

Actually they cant officially sign him until the first day of the new league year.

But if they REALLY wanted to get this done, they could have a contract in principle in place already. And said contract could be signed and announced.

Whaaaaaaaaat? At what point during Mike's coaching tenure did you think "this guy DESERVES an extension?"
I do believe Dan thought Mike was going to win, with all the responsibility he was granted.
He sucked completely, he wasted draft picks, did not play free agents to their strengths and embarrassed the owner when his demands backfired. Its why he will never coach in any capacity again. He has a CHANCE to get a desk job in S.F.

Yeah, I agree. Kyle turned out to be a good/great OC and might be a good/grerat HC. Whatever mojo Big Shanny had (Terrell Davis) he was a really shitty HC for the Redskins.

Shanny had lost his magic by the time he got to DC. And it didnt help that he walked into a severe clusterfuck of epic proportions. Made a bad choice in defensive schemes, and proceeded to get into a pissing match with the Owner and the QB at the same time.
