Perfect. Makes my case even more. Since the new rules went into effect there's been 5 ties in the last 4 years. Under the old rules, the previous 5 ties took place over a 19 year window.
It's like Thursday Night Football for me. I never want my team to play it due to injuries and wear/tear of a game so close, but if I could ensure my team didn't play, TNF is good for my schedule and may even cost my rivals a win. So if my team gets the ball first and scores a FG, old rules rule. If the other teams get it, new rules obviously make sense.
I'm too selfish to make an altruistic "good for the game" decision. It's the same for weather. If my team toughs it out better in the snow than the opponent's air attack, let it snow! If not, shouldn't all stadiums have domes, damnit!
