Who cares? A bunch of "weak" and Wild Card teams have taken home the trophy recently - if you're playing the best ball at the right time, it doesn't matter. This seems like a pre-game excuse party for the OP. If you can't win your division, you should just count your blessings that you still have a shot.

don't worry about it. i have some time to post it. Since 2000 (14 seasons), when Bill Belichick was hired as head coach:

The Bills have had ONE winning season

The Jets have had 8 winning seasons (a little over half the time)

The Dolphins have had 6 winning seasons (a little less than half the time)

So, over the long run, you basically face 2 'average' organizations in the Jets and Dolphins and 1 horrid organization in the Bills. That's not exactly a murderer's row.

Good burn! Love seeing someone prove how full of it JDM is.

What the hell does that mean? Also, if you win 8 games you should count your blessings you're in the playoffs. The 49ers should count their blessings? They won 12 fucking games for Christ's sake. That's only tied for the 3rd best record in the league...and they should count their blessings.

How about this? This is just spit balling here, but what about 4 divisions of 8 instead of 8 divisions of 4? That could improve the playoff seeding. You could play your division opponents twice each for a total of 14 games and 2 games from somewhere else. The North/South and the East/West could make up the 2 conferences. This would keep existing rivalries intact as well as create or rekindle old ones. The Lions and Browns for example. It would have been fine with me had they kept the league at 30 teams instead of expanding to 32. With 30, we had 3 divisions of 5 in each conference. Some contend that with 8 divisions it's been a bit "watered" down. I can see that.

North--BAL, CHI, CIN, CLE, DET, GB, MIN, PIT
South--ATL, CAR, HOU, IND, JAX, NO, TB, TEN
East--BUF, DAL, MIA, NE, NYG, NYJ, PHI, WAS
West--ARZ, DEN, KC, OAK, SD, SEA, SF, STL
