The second fine was for slamming his helmet on the sideline after his TD. To put this in perspective Roughing The Passer which is one of the steepest fines you can get costs a player $ 18,231.

Does anyone else think that Landry being fined that much is ridiculous?

There isn't much interpretation involved. His grabbed his junk, others have been fined for it, Lynch has been threatened by it, etc.

I don't care about fines because they should care about them accordingly if they want, the fines go to charity of the player's choice, they make millions playing a game, this wasn't a fine for praising Allah or something that would be controversial to fine, and if your right to grab your junk on TV is so important to you, do that on your own time instead of your own dime. I get the objection, but I wouldn't be cross about this, prioritize your anger or whatnot.

I understand interpretation, but I'm talking specifically about this case. The rules are clear, he was fined. Celebration rules are an issue, but jeez, there are many things banned that are moredefendable.

I also know that there's hypocrisy in the NFL for messages sent to families, children, women, players, etc. But geez, it's just grabbing your junk. Relax and find a better celebration and get fined for that or not.

There were two fines. I saw a new camera angle today that showed that he actually grabbed his crotch. On the TV angle it wasn't shown. I agree that it shouldn't be done. I even agree that a fine is understandable in that case from what I saw today. 24K is a tough lesson though. NFL football players aren't as rich as you think though. They aren't all millionaires & there careers are short. Most TD celebration penalties are 12K. I think he could have learned his lesson without paying twice as much as other players.

The 2nd Fine was over 24K for slamming his helmet on the sideline after the TD. In your opinion is that worse than roughing the passer at 18K? Is it twice as bad as the usual end zone celebration that usually costs 12K?
