Okay, this we agree on.

Deion was unstoppable in Tecmo Super Bowl. I wouldn't cover receivers. I'd blitz. He'd be in the backfield before the snap. It was unbelievable.

No offense in the other thread.

What I always thought was underrated about the game was the music and presentation. Tecmo's games always had good music though I wouldn't rank them ahead of Capcom or Sunsoft in that regard.

Funny thing is 20 years later it Temco Super Bowl still has a better presentation and music than Madden does.

Watching the intro still pumps me up

Techmo Bowl was like the best game ever. I remember epic battles with neighbors. Just so much fun to play!

I remember Super Techmo Bowl had a glitch where your NG could get like 100 sacks in a season. I used to have Barry Sanders run formillions of yards, and then that NG would kill everyone. The original didn't have that glitch. I really wish Super Techmo didn't have that glitch.

I just loved the guys bouncing up in the air after getting blocked in that original game. Also remember Lawerence Taylor in the original and how he would fly in and block FG's all the time (if the computer sent him). I also remember trying to win it with Indy who's QB (Danny White?) was the only one who would throw incomplete passes so you had to give it to Hershell in the playoffs.

I also use to use the Lions NG to get easy sacks. Wasn't Mike Golic the Lion's NG?

You were able to blitz CBs?

I always used the D-line.

In the Super version you could. Sanders was so damn fast in that game, he could leave his receiver at the line, and if the QB completed a pass to his man, turn around and still run him down.

It was like playing against the computer Raiders in the original, and Jackson would truck your entire defense. Totally freaking unfair.

Ironically (or not), Sanders couldn't tackle in that game, either. I'd get to the QB, but would usually require somebody to help clean him up.

It wound up being more interesting than I thought it was going to be but it would be a bit dry if you have 0 interest in Tecmo Bowl and the people that play it.
