Cowherd had his top 10 this morning.

1. Packers
2. Giants
3. Ravens
4. Steelers
5. Saints
6. Jets
7. Niners
8. Falcons
9. Pats
10. Texans

I don't have a huge problem with this, but the Jets for sure I would put below the Niners, and possibly the Saints. And the Giants too. The Niners may not be destroying every team, but we are consistent in every game. The Giants and Jets have both been all over the place. The thing is... I think you have seen the best you are gonna see from those teams, but I don't think we have seen the best from the Niners.

Naw, he doesn't seem to think much of the Giants either...

I find him to be petty and biased because of the Twitter war, I believe this is a preemptive move to justify either saying "Look the posers lost to a poor Giants team" or "Sure, they won but it was at home against the Giants, the same team who lost to the Seahawks" (ignoring the New England win). Anyone else, I'd give the benefit of the doubt.

What are people explanations for ranking the Niners so low?

They play in a weak division? They have only played 1 game in-division, so that makes no sense.

They have had a cake-walk schedule so far? Cin (#1 seed in AL right now), Dream Team, America's Team, Bucs, Lions (undefeated at time). Not the toughest in the world, but it does include a 4-0 road record with 3 of those being in the Eastern Time Zone (Phi, Was, Det).

I do not see any argument to legitimately rank them anywhere below 2, let alone 5 or 7.

Feels like many are downgrading them because they feel that Smith has been underwhelming. I know that's Cowherd's stance since he's labeled Smith as an average QB. But I agree with you that there isn't any reason to rank the Niners less than 2nd at this point. The record speaks for itself.

I think the Niners are getting knocked because they are winning relatively close games, and their offense at least seems limited. But I have a hard time with them criticizing the Niners on those grounds when the Saints have lost to the Rams, the Giants to the Hawks, and the Ravens to the Jags. The Niners haven't always won pretty, but they've never let up against anyone.

We all know power ranking mean squat. Some people refuse to give us respect because of how bad we have been in years past and our close games against crappier teams. Also many refuse to rank us high with Alex at the helm.

I like being the underdogs and flying under the radar. Too much hype can be a bad thing. We just gotta keep winning!

I doubt we're still flying under the radar.

The offense just has to start performing better in the opponents half of the field. It seems like we have a nice drive until about the 30 and then we stall.... and we seem to have really stupid penalties that are killing drives.

Fuck La Canfora. He still has the Steelers and Saints above us? Granted we may not be a better team when we play them, but i thought power rankings were supposed to be week by week. Right now we should easily be number 2. That fat geeky fuck can go screw himself.

IF THE RAMS can beat the Saints, I have to believe our more talented and proven squad this season can do so. We can beat the saints!

The Seahawks did it last year for gods sake LOL........ If anything Brees has been more forceful with his throws, even better!

Cowherd is paid to hype up the Pats and Jets. Everyone at ESPN is to some degree, but him and Beadle are the two groupies.

The Giants are definitely better than they have been the past couple of years. They have a very good chance at making it to the NFC Championship game as long as Eli can keep it up.

Last I saw the Giants lost to the Seahawks, beat the Cardinals by a horrible call, lost to the Redskins, and barely beat the lowly Dolphins. And people fail to realize that the Pats just aren't that good. Brady's getting pressure he never got before and they literally have the worst defense in the league. So that win wasn't so much of a big deal.

Yeah, the Patriots just aren't that good this year. Brady is great but they have no vertical game, no running game, and no defense.

Agreed. For all the love that Eli is getting after this win people forget that the Pats D committed two pathetic pass interence's to help him along. At this point the Pats remind me of what the Colts were last year, which wasnt anything special.
