Collins has looked strong so far in the preseason.

He is definitely more of a thumper / run-stuffer as a safety, though. That is his strength.

Last season, the Giants were so injury riddled and talent lacking at DB that Collins was often asked to play away from this strength.

If the Giants can stay healthy... Collins could look far more effective this season.

We'll see, of course.

Haven't seen any giant action so far how's Shepard looking? Was pissed when Gmen took him

Tough to say, honestly. Shepard has drawn good reviews from training camp.

In the preseason, however, the Giants O-line has been so overwhelmed that the entire offense has been non-existent. Defensive lineman have been in the backfield disrupting everything... run or pass.

There are several causes at play:

- the Giants have run a very vanilla preseason scheme w/ little to no audibles/adjustments
- one of our better O-linemen (Justin Pugh) has been out with injury
- the Giants have a below average (perhaps bad) O-line in general

Probably a combination of all three.

Over the past several seasons, the Giants have been generally lackluster on offense during the preseason... so I'm not hitting the panic button. Yet.

Really liked the Shepard pick, think he will make an impact this year. If Cruz shows up at all, those three together should be tough to defend.

How's the shoulder coming along for Darian - thought that was a solid pick as well.

Oh the irony of not having a first round pick next year...

Officially "week to week"... which always seems to be a worrisome designation.

It's been close to 2 weeks so far since the injury date, and there is no need to rush him back for the 4th preseason game. Hopefully, he's ready to go week 1 vs Dallas (*fingers crossed*)... but I haven't heard any indications about where he is right now in the healing process.

^ An interesting role for Collins, the idea of it seems like a great fit.

Landon is a thick, swelled dude for being a safety.
