Assuming Doug Wilson doesn't make adjustments. In an interview, DW said he wasn't interested in buying out Havlat's contract.

Galiardi - Thornton - Burns (if he stays as a forward)
Marleau - Couture - Pavelski
Torres - Hertl - Havlat
Sheppard - Wingels - Burish
Desjardins

Boyle - Stuart
Vlasic - Braun
Demers - Irwin
Hannan?

Niemi
Greiss

Move Pavelski to 3rd line center, Havlat to the 2nd line, Stalock in for Greiss, and Hertl will probably play 30-40 games in the AHL before he gets a regular spot in the NHL.

Listening to Wilson on the radio with Ray Ratto it doesn't sound like any changes are going to be made to the line up. The way Wilson broke it down it sounds like he's expecting next years line up to look like:

Galiardi - Thornton - Burns (Yes, sounds like Burns is staying at forward)
Marleau - Couture - Hertl (Wilson spoke highly of Hertl and is expecting a lot from him. Too much IMO)
Torres - Pavelski - Havlat (Realized Pavs is a top 3rd line center in the league)
Desjardins - Burish - Wingels
Sheppard

Vlasic - Braun
Stuart - Boyle
Irwin - Demers
Tennyson

Niemi
Stalock

Stalock finally get his shot, hope it means more rest for Nemo, interesting Boylers staying an Hannans gone, really think thats a mistake he came in and played great hockey for the sharks. I think dumping Demers is better idea, but then again maybe he miracles a healthy season for himself this year

I'd like another forward in there and TJ gone, but they probably don't have the cap room for that. That's a good top 9 though, assuming Hertl is the real deal, and Havlat isn't on IR most of the season. Burns at forward all year is intriguing. I thought he was one of their best forwards for the rest of the season once the switch was made.

If the Sharks are going to keep with the up tempo transition style offense that made them so successful late in the season they will need dmen who can move the puck effectively. Demers, when healthy, has shown he can do that and do it very well. Hannan was very good defensively but did little to aid the offense. The fact that he was the Sharks 2nd leading scorer among dmen in the PO's tells you everything you need to know about why they had trouble scoring against the Kings.

I actually think Torres would fit well next to Thornton and Burns. I like the way TJ was playing late in the season but that line needs someone who is stronger on their skates and a bit better offensively. I find Wilsons expectations of Hertl a bit concerning as well. I'd prefer to see Hertl and Havlat switch spots so Hertl would get a little more sheltered minutes.

I still think they should move Boyle at the draft and try to aquire a left handed puck moving, point scoring, dman to play the left side with Stuart. Doesn't have to be an elite puck mover. Someone like Giordano would do.

Well it looks like the roster is set, for the most part. The only question mark is Havlat and when he'll be ready to go. Since he is always a question mark, I'm going to assume he will not be ready to go, cause that's the safer bet.

Torres-Thornton-Burns
Marleau-Couture-Kennedy
Sheppard-Pavs-Hertl
Burish-Desi-Wingels

Vlasic-Braun
Irwin-Boyle
Stuart-Demers
Hannan

Nemo
Stalock

How does that stack up against the rest of the division? ANA, EDM, LAK, VAN, CGY, PHX. I see the Kings being right there for the division race. ANA and VAN are a bit of unknowns. VAN is definitely on the downswing. PHX will be average. EDM is a rather unknown as their young talent comes together. CGY will be the doormats of the division. It should come down to a race between the Sharks and Kings.

It would be nice to add a meaningful piece to the 3rd line to replace Shep. Have him drop to the 4th & choose each night whetherto scratch Rubbish or Shep. Of course, if Havnot can come back healthy & effective, problem solved. Hertl will be the wild card.

I know Scotty is getting up there in age but from what I saw in the playoffs last year, I'd rather have Hanner in there over Demers. I'm done with Demers, I've come to terms with the fact that this kid isn't an impact player and really isn't even a quality NHL defenseman.

Provided no other moves are made I think the forwards will line up like:

Hertl - Thornton - Burns
Torres/Havlat - Couture - Marleau
Torres/Sheppard - Pavelski - Kennedy
Desjardins - Burish - Wingels
