not all that surprising on either front.. i like both hires

just to :ss:, gotta think murray is the contigency plan now if things dont go smoothly to start the season and lavi's run and gun style continues to allow 3+ goals/game

Please, that doesn't mean anything...the Flyers have had 4 head coaches under contract at one time more than once...

Murray is an excellent coach whose attention to detail and quiet intensity are so often overlooked and not appreciated.

Lappy having an official role in player development can only be good. He knew and understood how to prepare physically and mentally to the most out of your game.

Don't get me wrong I have always been a fan of Murray's. I would love to have him back as coach if Lavi gets the axe. I think this was a great hire and we will see how long he stays in Adirondack?

im not saying lavy is going to be replaced.. i love lavy, i love the run and gun.. i'm just saying the cycle normally either goes between a defensive guy and an offensive guy, or a player friendly guy and a disciplinarian.. having murray in adirondack just makes him the likely successor if lavy were to get canned.. IMO

i think so.. but that means even less in the coaching world than it does in the players world (richards, carter, jvr, all got traded pretty soon after their extensions)
