New All-Star 3-on-3 Format

"This year's All-Star Game will be three separate 20-minute, 3-on-3 games resulting from a four-team mini-playoff, sources confirmed to ESPN.com.

Two teams from the Eastern Conference will play each other while two teams from the Western Conference face off. Then the two winners will meet in the final 20-minute, 3-on-3 game."


Sooooo... our former poster who had the "win in the bank" idea got a job in the NHL offices somehow?

Lucky Pierre was on the cesspool this afternoon and he loves All-Star weekend (I think the word I heard was phenomenal). Probably the worst thing about All-Star weekend is the game itself (I do enjoy the skills competition). In all honesty, I'm willing to 3-on-3 a try to see how it works.

That's pretty much how I felt. It seems silly, but so are pretty much all all-star games. So let's see it. Maybe next year they'll just play a soccer match instead.

Baseball's home field advantage has probably been the most absurd all-star change in decades since it actually matters in some tiny way.

I was wondering how to increase scoring, and by extension, fan intrest in the ASG.
This will be great. A bunch of short games, because Americans have short attention spans. With lots of scoring because Americans love basketball.
