...In reeling in Bledsoe. The threat of significantly lesser minutes got Bledsoe to level back on his demands. And now that they've got Zoran Dragic signed, it gives them a little insurance if Goran were to leave as a free agent next year. With Zoran's original verbal committment, it allowed them to raise their offer to Bledsoe and add a 5th year with more limited consequence.

It doesn't matter, though. P.J. Tucker is the Suns' real MVP anyway. Just look what happened last year when they doubled his minutes from the season before.

That doesn't really make sense though. If Phoenix was in the driver's seat because of a verbal commitment from Zoran, why would they cave an add $2mil more per season along with that fifth year?

Point being, the move got Bledsoe to give up $10 million on his demand, while also allowing Phoenix a little security if Goran walks and less a risk to cut a big check.

Or it has nothing to do with Bledsoe and more to do with resigning Goran. I think the opportunity to play alongside your brother is enticing, assuming you get along with him.

Goran was coming back either way barring a major injury. This just further assures that.

Zoran is a good player himself, he adds depth to an already loaded backcourt in case they decide to make a trade.

He got an extra year and 22 million more than they originally offered.

Yeah, that possible signing really put the fear of god in him:L.

Only 2 mil more per year annually. It's the extra year that makes the 22 mil seem like a big increase for him. Either way we knew the price was going up.
