Nebrasketball with favorable path left

After the win tonight over #24 Mizzou, Nebraska has placed itself in a favorable situation. Hear me out........

If we beat Colorado, we very likely would end up 6th in the Big 12 going into the conference tourney. This is because Baylor lost tonight at Okie State, and now they have 1 game left against Texas.........which of course I am hoping they lose. Missouri has 1 game left against Kansas.........which of course I am hoping they lose.

Obviously Baylor and Missouri will not be favored in those games.........if they shake out like I think they will, and Nebraska takes care of business at Colorado, we will finish 6th.

Here's why that's good for us............we would play Texas Tech or Oklahoma in the first round of the Big 12 tourney.........and if we win, we would play Texas A&M second round. That is a favorable set up for Nebraska because we matchup VERY well against A&M.

Now, let's not shit ourselves here.........anything can happen, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Texas lose to Baylor or Kansas lose to Missouri..........BUT, chances are Nebraska has a favorable path.

Sorry, actually Missouri losing to Kansas would do nothing for us..........I don't know why I said that. We just need Baylor to lose to Texas, and we need to beat Colorado........and that is it.

However, winning the first 2 games in the Big 12 tourney would put us "in the conversation."

That would mean we would beat A&M again, and that would give us our 8th quality win of the year.........

This week they were projecting 7 Big 12 teams making the NCAA tourney at one point...........you would think Nebraska would be in the conversation if they were able to do that. But yea, they probably would still be left out by the selection committee when it's all said and done.

No I was somewhat joking..........but I will say, only an insane person would knock the basketball team this year. Coming off of the season they had last year, and with the players we have compared to every other team in this conference.............for us to beat 3 ranked teams this year is crazy. That is including 2 top 15 wins as well..........and one of those was against a top 3 team.

I think JJM is a true Husker roundball fan who saw a glimmer of what
we all were hoping to get to and he takes it a little harder then those of
us that feel this way towards football.

I will be honest.. I love NU sports, but football is my only real love (Sports).

Everything else... just a filler for me.

That is including 2 top 15 wins as well..........and one of those was against a top 3 team.

Yes, we have improved dramatically, and I am very proud of the team..

I just don't wanna get hopes up when there really isn't any.

Anyways, seriously speaking here...........if we beat Colorado and win the first 2 games in the Big 12 tourney, we will be squarely placed on the bubble. We would have to get lucky to get selected at that point..........but you never know. We may look more appetizing by that point in the season.

Oh hell, I was wrong............I just read that Nebraska would finish 5th in the Big 12 in Missouri loses to Kansas and Baylor loses to Texas.........and we beat Colorado.

That changes a lot. We would then play Iowa State first round........fuck. Then we would have to play Kansas State second round if we won.
