I always liked the N in the middle of the field because it's one of the few that looks the same from both sides of the field, but whatever.

Also, I don't see what the big deal is about saying 'corn'huskers. It doesn't bother me when they say cornhuskers rather than huskers. I honestly think cornhuskers flows more fluently after I say nebraska.

What's a husker though? Cornhusker makes sense, but yeah I can see how it doesn't impress recruits.

Then you have an onslaught of overused and abused mascots;
Wildcat/Tiger/Bulldog etc

Sure Nebraska's isn't that appealing but it doesn't make a difference. We are hurt more by our location and rather than nickname. Honestly I don't see how it would play that major of a role in deciding schools.

So, some schools and professional teams nickname themselves after what historically has happened in the region or city. Lincoln and Omaha are not bad places and if you stay within the cities you won't get the impression that Nebraska is all just farming.
