Nebraska's Drew Ott playing today vs. Northwestern

The Nebraska staff let him walk out of the state and true freshman Drew Ott # 95 of Iowa is taking off the redshirt today vs. Northwestern. I hate to cheer for Hawkeyes but I really want him to do well....

wonder what iowa saw in him that Nebraska didnt.. Must not have thought he would fill out.

He's awfully small for a college DE, what position is he starting at, LB?

Since arriving in June; he's added 30 lbs so he's sitting at roughly 270 lbs. He beats the starter in drills consistantly. But he's at the DE spot. It wasn't just Iowa who saw something. He had offers from K-State, KU, A&M, Ohio, and was supposed to take visits to Michigan and Wisconsin but committed to Iowa so they never happened.

I've been excited to see him on the field since he committed. The one thing I don't like though is burning the redshirt half way through the damn year. Classic KF. He did this last year with our RB's and it didn't work out so well. This is a big part of the reason that people are pissed at him.

As long as he doesn't pull a Bo and only play him 3-4 snaps; it should work out well for Iowa.
