Illinois is another bad offensive line. They can't run block and they can't pass protect. Wes Lunt is not a running QB. Hopefully, the Nebraska defense can exploit all of this. Unfortunately, with no pass rush, Wes Lunt might have enough time to do some damage.
Illinois key offensive players are Wes Lunt, Malik Turner, and Keshawn Vaughn. The only scary one is Wes Lunt because he can fling it and he is a true pro-style QB and can make reads and will throw the ball too many different receivers. If the defense can get to him enough, then it should be game over.
Illinois is bad against the run. Good pass rush. Can be gashed for huge runs. Langsdorf should have a field day. The Nebraska offense is going to roll. The offense we saw at Northwestern is perfect for this Illinois defense.
The crowd will be insane and the revenge factor is there.
Illinois
Offense 92nd
rush yards 157.3
pass yards 222.3
Defense 40th
rush 158 ypg
pass 196.7 ypg
Scoring defense ranked 79
Bad red zone offense
bad red zone defense
bad in punt returns
bad at getting first downs
bad in penalties
Nebraska will score in the 40s, maybe even in the 50s. Illinois might get in the 20s. 48-21
