Offensive Commites
Monte Harrison: 4-Star (WR)
Tanner Farmer: 4-Star (OG)
Zack Darlington: 3-Star (QB)
DJ Foster: 3-Star (OG)
Larenzo Stewart: 3-Star (APB)
Freedom Akinmoladun: 3-Star (TE)
Demornay Pierson-El: 3-Star (ATH)
Drew Brown: 2-Star (K)
Offensive Needs: WR, OT, RB
WR
Erik Brown: 4-Star (Fontana, CA) Brown committed to Washington during the camp circuit in the summer but has kept in touch with the Husker staff and Coach Fisher in particular throughout the process. He even took an official visit to Nebraska for the Southern Miss game. Justin Hopkins (247Sports recruiting analyst), on a radio program recently said that Brown is on flip watch for Nebraska come signing day. Said it wasn't a done deal but that Nebraska is definitely helping their cause. Looks to be a three horse race with Washington (where he's committed), Nebraska and Notre Dame.
Dallis Todd: 4-Star (La Marida, CA) Todd is another player committed to a different school (Oklahoma) that has been rumored to have Nebraska interest. The rumor was he would visit for the UCLA game but it was an 11 o'clock kick and he didn't make it. Don't be surprised if Nebraska is able to get him in on a visit sometime later in the season. Looks like the staff will shoot for the MSU or Iowa games. If Todd visits he is most definitely on flip watch.
Robert Lockhart: unrated JUCO (Boca Raton, FL) Lockhart originally signed with Maimi out of high school but left after his freshman year and an ACL tear sidelined him. Lockhart originally wanted to come to Nebraska out of high school but his mom wanted him closer to home. Now that he is being re-recruited he says his mom is okay with Nebraska. Lockhart visited for the Northwestern game and had a great time. He was a 4-star receiver out of prep school when he signed with Miami.
OT
Brian Wallace: 4-Star (Saint Louis, MO) Wallace has LONG been on Nebraska's radar. He visited unofficially for a camp in January of 2013 and earned an offer there. Nebraska has since been at the top of the pack as Wallace has gained more and more recognition. Wallace has the frame (6'6" 305 lbs) to become an all-american and Alabama is pushing him hard late. He has a top four of Nebraska, Iowa, Alabama and Arkansas. B1G vs SEC. Nebraska will push for Wallace to visit near the end of the season once again. He is by far the best tackle prospect Nebraska has been in on since Andrus Peat. Let's hope it doesn't end in similar fashion.
Nick Gates: 3-Star (Las Vegas, NV) Gates came around for BRW and a Nebraska camp and earned an offer. He loved his visit here and then also came for an OV to the Northwestern game where he loved it yet again. Distance could be a factor with Gates but he loves Nebraska's OL staff and the way they play the game. Texas A&M remains the team to beat here even with Oregon jumping n board late.
Other names of note: Brandon Bailey, Frank Ragnow
RB
Kalen Ballage (Peyton, CO) Ballage wants to play RB at the next level and the Nebraska staff (though they would love him to consider LB or Safety) is more than willing to give the talented athlete (6'2" 215 lbs... 4.3 forty) a shot at the position. Ballage has twice wanted to visit Nebraska but twice circumstances out of his control wouldn't allow it. He remains very interested in Oregon but it seems as though the Ducks will not offer. He has a top four of Nebraska, Michigan, Boise State and Michigan State at the moment. And with Michigan State adding Madre London as a RB commit recently that could narrow the field down to UM and NU. Nebraska badly wants to get Ballage into town ASAP, if they can work an OV in soon they could become front runners for the talened athlete's services.
Corey Avery: 3-Star (Dallas, TX) Nebraska loves Avery's versatility out of the backfield and that he runs with toughness. Comparable to Adam Taylor in style but Newby in size Avery would be a very versatile back at the next level. He's supposedly visiting sometime within the next month and Nebraska would like to pick up one more back next to Larenzo Stewart if they could. They would take both Avery and Ballage though. Don't let his rating fool you, Avery has offers from LSU and Ohio State among others. Nebarska would definitely take him if they could get him.
