Some stats for both teams in '97.

Nebraska (from huskersmax.com)

ppg- 47.1 / opponents- 16.4 (30.7 difference)
total offense- 513.7 / opponents- 257.3 (256.4 difference)

meeeechegan (from mgoblue.com)

ppg- 26.8 / opponents- 9.5 (17.3 difference)
total offense- 387.7 / opponents- 222.8 (164.9 difference)

Nebraska- 1 game decided by 7 or less
meeeechegan- 4 games decided by 7 or less

Pretty one sided comparing the offensive side of the ball. Anyone want to post the defensive stats? Can't imagine they would be overwhelmingly in meeeechegan's favor like it is for Nebraska on offense.

Hey @MAIZEandBLUE09 & @TrustMeIamRight

These stats are for you two. It compares the '97 Huskers offense & the '97 wolvereeeen offense.

One would expect that in the horrid B12...

But the teams were fundamentally different. Nebraska was built on offense, Michigan was built on defense.

In '97 meeeechegan was # 1 in D. Nebraska was # 5.

In '97 the Huskers were # 1 in offense. The wolvereeeens were # 44 (tied with Ohio U. & W. Michigan)

Keep telling yourself the '97 Huskers were all offense & no defense.

I know I've said it before, but I can't tell you how much I enjoy seeing UoM fans reduced to "HEY! We're better than Nebraska! Sort of!"

I told everybody that Michigan's defense was a paper tiger in 2017 before Penn St ass r*ped them Sandusky style (42-13).

That paper tiger got ass r*ped again last season by tOSU (62-39) and Florida (41-15).

Prepare thyself for another season of paper tiger hype in 2019.

It was 22 years ago — time to let it go. The teams didn’t play — the closest you can get is common opponents.

Michigan beat Colorado 28-3
Nebraska beat Colorado 27-24

Michigan beat Baylor 38-3
Nebraska beat Baylor 49-21

Going out on a limb and saying UM was much better against common opponents. But I’m sure in your mythical game where Nebraska plays Michigan — that’d all change, because of how you did against teams UM didn’t even face.

Let’s get back to talking about the current state of the Huskers and how you’ve become a women’s volleyball and band school now. That is much more respectable than dragging up something from 20 years ago.

Was your clue when Nebraska ran up 50 yards of offense against UM in 3 1/2 quarters?!? Martinez did have 10 yards of total offense (22 passing, -12 rushing) during that time, which is extremely impressive.

Michigan beat Colorado in Ann Arbor.

Michigan beat Baylor in Ann Arbor
Nebraska beat Baylor in Waco

I know I've said it before, but I can't tell you how much I enjoy seeing UoM fans reduced to "HEY! We're better than Nebraska! Sort of!"

That’s about the only argument we can win these days. Nebraska is a 2nd rate team in the worst division in P5 conferences. So it is entertaining to actual be able to trash talk to someone and actually mean it.

What are we going to say to OSU? I just got booted from a UM site for laughing at a guy who said this is the year we will beat OSU by 30. When I responded, ‘why don’t we try just winning the game’ — I was told they don’t like my kind on their page:pound:
