I think he's going to try turning Nebraska into a Chip Kelley Oregon type team ... run & gun with speed. Why does everybody think Frost cares about defense? His track record shows he is simply trying to score more points - faster than the other team. He simply lets the other team tire out or make their own mistakes & lose a possession here and there. It's his M.O..... quit trying to bring back the Blackshirts of old. Until this strategy doesn't work to put him in the CFP, he will not change. Now, if year 5 or 6 comes along and he hasn't sniffed a trophy due to defense, he will make a change similar to what Dr. Osborne did in early 90's.
His undefeated season at UCF is the model....just with 4 & 5 star offensive players instead of UCF's 3 stars.I think he's going to try turning Nebraska into a Chip Kelley Oregon type team ... run & gun with speed.

Chip's Oregon team was a FG away from beating Auburn for the national championship. A few years later his Oregon team kicked the teeth out in a royal beat down of a Jameis Winston led FSU team. Two days after that game the Ducks lost two starters when they failed their piss test (smoking weed). Now if Nebraska wanted a B1G 10 type grind 'em out offense then they should have hired someone else for HC.The best Oregon team really was not a serious contender for championship. The PAC 12 is probably the 5th rated conference of the Power 5, since the start of the so called playoff system. Run and gun with speed is good, to a point, but you still need a bit of D, IMO. Too bad CF never had opp to really show what they could have possibly done in 2017
Which is what I stated. Frost is not interested in bringing back the Blackshirts of old.Frost cares about defense, but not the way most think. He wants the defense to gamble asks make plays, force turnovers. Feel trade some big plays for turnovers any day all day. Points per possession is the key statistic. Get the ball back to the offense.
He doesn't need a top 10 defense in total yards, but he wants a top 20 defense in turnovers forced. So yes, he cares about defense, just not in the way most poodle like to think l...limiting teams to 200 yards and 10 points isn't the goal for him.
As long as the offense scores more than the defense gives up, I'm ok with that.Which is what I stated. Frost is not interested in bringing back the Blackshirts of old.

Perhaps because he will be in the offensive backfield so often sacking those quarterbacks it would appear he was an offensive player? Also, I love the BTN guys, but Ty Robinson is not going to the offensive side of the ball.
