Also, if the rule is put into place we should see guys averages go up which is fair considering the record books. Guys didn’t have to deal with this back in the day, at least not to this extreme level. If a guy hits .330 now it’s like hitting .360 or .370 with all the analytics. Not just fielding but pitching too. They also have to face so many different pitchers with how teams use their BP these days
I tend to agree.

Relief pitchers today are nothing like they were. Its really crazy.

Everyone complains at the the "three true outcomes"- but the shift has reinforced that is the way to go for most teams because of what you said- averages are killed with the shift.

Now- if people were to guess- would home runs go; (i) up, (ii) down, (iii) or stay the same- if MLB instituted a no shift rule?

I think they would probably go down a little. I think strikeouts would prob. go down. I think batting averages would go up. I think there would be more action in the game that everyone has complained about losing.

Its not a permanent thing if its instituted- lets see how it goes and go from there.

No moral victories but damn Tejas deserved to win that game.

If Ewers didn't get hurt.....they probably would have.

I would have preferred the Sixers to do the Harrell deal with Whiteside. He’s a better fit as a 10-12 minute back up for Embiid. You can play him in the regular season when Embiid is out. And Whiteside could actually be in the playoff rotation unlike Harrell.
I was hoping we picked Whiteside up too.

But, looks like we are rolling with Brown.
