@WiggyRuss you drink White Claws......right?
I have never bought a white claw but I have drank them before. On our co-ed softball team people would bring them once in a while- and if we were outta beer....well...then ya gotta do what ya gotta do. lol.

Teams I like so far:

My Spurs team
Pacers
MAgic
Twolves may be my favorite

kinda like the Bulls

Celtics--- funny they got Williams RIGHT BEFORE his new extension

Utah i like a lot- I think Nance was a great pick- he was my next guy.

Memphis is really good but almost broke now

not a huge fan of the 3rd and 4th picks for GSW- but Towns and Irving is a helluva combo to start with

Props to @CitySushi for bringing name talent to the Pacers. Unfortunately, I don’t think they finish any better than the actual 2022 Pacers in the real world. You don’t think defenses will collapse on Durant with Simmons being such a bad shooter?

If Durant/Westbrook was a bad basketball fit, Westbrook makes Simmons look like Ray Allen as a shooter…

WAY TOO EARY. Right now there are 10-15 teams I could see get a top 3 seed in either conference. Close to 10-12 I could see winning it all due to their core.

The fact is you can only go so far with young talent. You will need a star possibly some AS type of players or close to it around them, combo mix of young players, strong bench and all that while managing the cap well enough to get that solid bench. That’s what made this fun, it is a challenge but I will say getting to pick at the top is a slight edge. Teams still had a chance at drafting great players late 1st and even in the 2nd but getting a top 5 was pretty huge. A lot of great value picks so far, I mean I got freaking Kawhi like 18th?…for example. That would NEVER happen in a re-draft on real live. He goes Top 10 every time and probably top 6.

Luka
Giannis
Lebron
KD
Steph
Kawhi

Trae? Possibly in that mix, at least top 10

I think Lebron would still be drafting in the top 6 honestly.

and - i hate to say it- i hate the WCS pick too was rough. ick.

anyway- @Shanemansj13 I think you are oging to run into a problem at some point and I have a couple suggestions I offer- obviously cmopletely up to you whether you take them.

At 112- its clear that some teams might, or are even likely, not able to fill out their roster of 10 players without going over.

2 suggestions-

after they reach 112 you can either

1. their "regular draft" ends then and they stop picking. Once everyone is out of cap space- the teams that need roster spots then start picking again- but can only take guys that are "min" deals. For simplicity sake id just say 3M or lower

2. They just keep picking but can only take min. players

also- once teams hit the cap- I would suggest- and like i said- totally understandable if you dont like it- and it creates feasiblity issues- but granting each team a "mid level exception" where they can take like a 12M dollar or less player one time- instead of just a vet min. (and this would only obviously be after every team with cap space drafteD)

like i siad- only suggestions- but its a problem i foresee coming when we are restricted by the cap- but- I can also see just doing nothing- and tough shit to teams that are at the cap.

just options/suggestions.

I think the prob. with Kawhi was the injury.

we werent sure exactly how that played out or would be considered in things.

I think that is definitely a good plan for worst possible scenario but I want to make the teams that are low on cap space aware throughout the draft. If they start now they can take those lower priced guys. There is no reason to go over the cap, they know the cap before. The teams spending now with just have to tone it down. Starting after Round 4…I am making a short list of the teams over a certain threshold or the “danger zone”. I will continue to do that throughout the draft after each round. If I see a team with a low money and they draft a highly priced player I will let them know the situation and a possible re-pick. I feel your scenario is worst case though

Yeah sure injuries are issues with a lot of players but we have to think of this as of right now everyone is healthy. I mean Kawhi won’t be in street clothes on my bench…so basically rewind to the playoffs when he was healthy and a top 5 player.

I think some rosters will probably end up being a bit skewed with numerous fairly unproven guys on their first contract. But one could argue the starting stipulation of no rookies skews them to begin with and if that happens things balance out in a sense if we pretend some "potential" guys are rookies.

It’s simple, you have to save back enough salary to fill a 10 man roster with minimum guys. Nothing complicated about that. I know you have it under control, leave it to the same usual suspects to complicate things.

I don’t believe he is truly in his prime still bc like Trojan said his pace was just at a different level than most guys. I still think he is a very good player and can take the game over at any point still though. They need him to be a very good player still for 3 more years and you would think by that time, Lebron is around 40, and might be ready to retire, if not retire, transition his game to a different style at 39/40 years old

I don’t think he is in his prime

I don’t even think he is a good value at 44 million. That is why he was available in round 3.

But he is still a very good player and I could afford the hit because I went cheap early.

I think any team with plenty of cap in Round 3 would have done the same, worth a shot. I was thinking about taking him with LaVine and Sabonis but I just didn’t like the fit exactly. Your fit is better than if I put him on Dallas imo

I don’t like it.

The rule at the start was everyone had to be under the cap at 112.

Can’t change it now.

If a team goes over or is unable to draft 10 players, then they automatically lose.

Because that is why many of us started with cheap players.

If we could go over the cap to sign min guys, I would definitely not have drafted MP in round 1
