Last comment for now:

George contests the jumper and forces Jordan to go through Mourning, Moses and Laimbeer. He is going to have to work his tail off to get 30, and I can't see anybody else beating me.

So for me it comes down to who guards MJ... The bigs cancel each other out while Moses is the best of the group and Zo is great too, they face size both of who are good/great defenders... I think you match up well vs anchor teams meaning teams who pack the paint (which is why I felt you should have lost to me)... While Zo could hit 15' and in he's not a stretch guy... MJ goes off vs Allen... In 12 games

MJ - 28.8 .508%
Allen - 16.7 .413%

4 of those were Wizard MJ... I think defense is the game here... I got Mike at 51 and nobody on the other team gets close...

This is where starting lineups help figure what somebody does... I thought you would be starting Johnson and he's not stoping Jordan which means Ray has to guard him... Flip to that, why would Jordan be chasing Allen, Iggy would do that and Jordan could play Johnson... You also had Zo last game so I had him starting this game... While I think that gives you a better shot, I still think MJ pulls it out...

See, you assume I am playing ZO huge minutes.

McGinnis probably gets 30 in this game and Milk has no answer for that. McGinnis was an MVP level performer in his day.

George guards Jordan. Ray, Jihnson and Heinsohn match with the other wing

This is why I think t sucks that almost all the votes are in before we can even talk strategy.

No chance MJ gets 50 against PG13 and my rim protectors.

he can always throw the rock to Billups who was a pretty good 3 point shooter...

But it is hard debating with people that clearly know much more than you do...

But who on your team do you see scoring 20+ with my defense??

I agree with both statements...

That is what is best about my team.

Aside from Van Lier, anybody can get 20+. I can feed the hot hand. That could come from a bench guy, or a starter. Game on the line, I am probably running some pick and roll with Tiny and Moses and surrounding them with 3 shooters. Your defense is very good, but even a great D can't stop that action.

Catch and shoot players like Allen can't simply be shut down by an elite defender. Iggy and MJ are best on the ball.

Perhaps... But I think you think my whole team is Michael... Nobody is defending Billups, my PGs have size on both of your PGs... Then I have Dolph schayes and Chet Walker, I know they are OLD players, but both HOFers... Dolph is recognized as a top 10 PF of all time by many...

We have been doing these drafts like 2 1/2 years now and we tried getting people to talk strategy before people voted it just didn't work, we just have a tough time getting everyone here at the same time and honestly it lead to fighting. People generally make up their mind about a team just by looking at the team and it's rare you change someones opinion with a post about your strategy.

i know MJ is not your whole team, but who aside from him can you count on for even 15 points?

Also, consider the matchup for Mr. tree Rollins. He is an elite run protector, but his minutes will likely overlap with Lainbeer's (I will make sure of that).

Laimbeer is a shooter. Rollins' rim protection skills are negated because he has to guard Laimbeer 24 feet from the rim. Laimbeer will not be posting up.

Yes, but if you are going to say that your defense will shut down players like Artis Gilmore, Chauncey billups, Dolph schayes, then at the same time shouldn't I be saying my defense(which is slightly better than yours) would stop your players too...

I think your offense has much more depth than mine, but my defense is better, and I have the best scorer on the court... I dont see any of your players to be safe for 20+ points, of course one will do it, but i think my defense would make it very hard for any to do it... especially since your best scorers average around 20 points per game...

I don't think your D is significantly better though.

Here are my guys best scoring seasons:

Moses: 31.1
Allen: 26.4
Archibald: 34.0
George: 23.1
M. Johnson: 25.6
Zo: 23.2
McGinnis:29.8 ABA, 23.0 NBA
Laimbeer: 17.5
Heinsohn: 22.1
Van Leir: 15.0

I think you are vastly underrating my teams' scoring potential.

I think Tiny, Moses and McGinnis are all pretty good bets for 20+, and at least 5 other players could get there with a hot shooting game.

Realistically though, I think I get 2 players around 20 and 7 or 8 in double figures.

Also, you can't guard pick and roll with just two guys. Somebody is going to be open.
