This matchup is so close. Payton va Frazier both great defenders and could score the ball. This matchup comes down to TD guarding Dirk and he cant. Hakeem does work on Walton.

UK wins in a close one again.

I gave WLK a hard time, but these two teams are really close, and similarly built with tough, hard nosed PG's, solid wings and great post players. Dirk is the difference to me. Dirk is a great teammate, and he makes every offensive player better, because if you are talking Dirk in his prime, you have to take an athletic big man out of the paint and that sets up easier drives and post play from the other scorers

It's becoming cliché but we got ourselves another Doozy. WLK I really like your defense and rebounding it is truly great(UK's is not chop liver either). I also love the Pippen vs Melo match up. I think Pippen would thrive in that match up. The frazier vs Payton match up is incredible. Both would frustrate the other a ton and I like Frazier just a tad more.

Duncan and Dirk are another great match up but I love the spacing that Dirk creates. These two are a pretty close to a draw. Duncan get's the edge in championship pedigree but Dirk gets an edge in how he can change a game.

The problem for me is Havlichek vs Artest could be a nightmare. I had Kobe so Havlicheck was not someone I could take but I love him and this is just a lop sided match up. Hakeem vs Walton is pretty much the same and that is what sways me.

Both teams have two guys on the bench I really like. DeBusschere and Rodman for WLK and Cowens/Hawkins for UK.

I think in the end the C and SG match ups give UK the win.

Who's gonna score on WLK's team? UK has a better bench. IMO WLK thought so much about defense and rebounds that he forgot he'd have to score to win. I do like WLK's team having said that, Duncan is tops and Scottie would limit Carmelo but there's just better overall talent on UK's team.

Who's gonna score... Pistol 31ppg, Duncan, Pippen, Frazier, Kyrie, Love... He has 3 defenders... Who does Dirk stop, who does Melo stop... And if I recall when I had Cowens last draft he couldn't handle Spencer Haywood... Now he's the best player in the draft... HILARIOUS!!!

So in 16 minutes of Artest you ignore I have Pistol...

Why would you start Artest over Maravich?

No but you have Artest listed as the starter and Pistol could score the ball but so could Havlichek who could also play all world defense. That is what decided that.

I said a lot of great things about your team but someone has to win and I just think UK has more offensive punch all over his roster to eek it out.

I probably could have mentioned Pistol as a part of you bench that I loved but I mentioned the other two because of what they bring to the match up. Whether you go with Pistol or Artest he still has the better 2G.

Defense is awesome to have but you in a game like this with stud scorers who are going to score you have to have guys who can put it in a little too.

As good as Artest was defensively. Maravich is a better all-around player. He would be getting the majority of the minutes if I was in control. Plus he wouldn't be stopping Havlicek or Anthony anyway.

Starting Artest over Maravich?

:L

Guess you 2 missed the discussion about the minutes...

Artest 16min
Pistol 32min

What's interesting is that my all world defenders can't slow him down yet my scorers can't score... And before you say why didn't you start Pistol, as I explained I respect Hondos ability to score and defend... But it would make it harder to keep up with Pistol having played vs a physical player like Artest... You guys also ignore Artests ability to score... My whole team in fact...

In 7 year stretches...

Frazier - 21.2 ppg
Artest - 18 ppg
Pippen - 19.6
Duncan - 21.8
Pistol - 26.1

It's a cop out to say my team can't score... It's easy to look at them and say that, which is why I posted stats... Those as well as best season average... When you add that to the fact the 4 of my 5 bigs are awesome at the high post and Walton and Duncan are great in the post... Dave and Artest are unstoppable in the post as well and my oponent has no defense at either Forward position, I disagree...

Point is, people look at the starters FIRST, putting in Artest over Pete even if the minutes would be 32 - 16 may have cost you some votes. You put your best players in the starting lineup period!

I can agree with that... I'm still going to disagree... Felt like the strategy to have Pistol warm up on subs and end the game like Jamal Crawford would help but this not being in actual visuals people don't get that in depth with the thinking and/or voting...

Did you just compare Maravich to Crawford?

Not even a little bit... I'm saying the usage of Maravich would be similar to the usage of Crawford... It was hard for me to start Artest, but out of respect for Hondo I staggered Pistol... A mistake obviously... My giggest problem here perception... People see my team and assume I have no scoring... That's not the case, and though his scoring is great

Dirk jump shooter
Melo jump shooter
Hondo jump shooter (second only in missed shots to Kobe)
1 year Payton shot 6.3 3pt shots a game (jump shooter)

These shots vs great defenders equal misses which equal rebounds which I OWN... It's over now oh well... WLK in 6...

Ps. Anytime somebody says grabbing a 2x DPOY, 7x rebounding champion, 5x champion a joke and everybody agrees we are in trouble... For Rodman to be a "wasted pick" is ridiculous...
