I agree. 2 weeks into the season is more than enough time to say that Ryan Zimmerman can't hit and Ian Desmond will make 162 errors this season. They should just trade away all their players and start rebuilding.

The Nats have potentially great pitching but I am not convinced they that they have the bats for a title.

But why do you think this? Will they regress from last year, when they finished 3rd in the NL in runs scored? Only change has been Escobar for Asdrubal Cabrera.

Washington had already had 2 series against the doormat call Phillies, to be 7-7 is a horrible record, don't you think?

The baseball media had the Nats as the greatest pitching staff ever assembled in the modern era of baseball. Not so much nearly one month into the season.

Werth to DL, Difo called up from AA, retroactive to 5/16. I hear we actually got good news on Werth, nothin broken. He'll be back in less than 2 weeks

I just thought this was a nice little interview. A little fluffy, but a couple of laughs as well.

Oh son of a fucking bitch. Did I jinx something again? I better lay low for a minute.

Alright with Werth out 2+ months, I see 3 options. From most likely to least likely:

1: Roll with Michael A. Taylor as the everyday LF
2: Make a trade/ free agency. Heard the O's just DFA'd De Aza
3. Continue with the Taylor/Moore/Robinson platoon. Don't think anyone wants this.

I vote #1, for what it's worth.

Me too. Need to give him a taste of playing everyday if in fact he's gonna replace Span next year. At the very least he'll be good defensively. Bat him in a low pressure spot like 7th.

Shocker: Zim to the 15 day DL. Two months too late imo. Dude hasn't been right all year.

In other news, Nats acquired reliever David Carpenter from the Yanks for Tony Renda

I've been on vacation and then was busy/lazy, so I haven't really posted at all over the last couple of weeks. I should be back full-time, now. Summary of events while I was gone: Meh series against Milwaukee, bad series against Tampa Bay, awesome series against Pittsburgh. How about that Max Scherzer? Worth every penny so far, though we will need to revisit that ten years from now when we are still paying him.

Still, hell of a game. I went through all the emotions on that Tabata at-bat...anger, denial, acceptance, etc. Looking back, and with help from Scherzer's own comments, I accept it and can't blame Tabata too much. He did what he had to do, split second decision. It happens. Was still fun booing the hell of him yesterday, though. :D

I'm still pretty ticked at Tabata. I think he had time to get out of the way. If it was 1-0, 2-0, or maybe even 3-0 I wouldn't be mad. But it was 6-0 with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the 9th, the game was over. Max deserved perfection, that was straight dominance and ownage. The difference between a no hitter and a perfect game is huge. Only 23 perfect games to 289 no hitters

Yeah, the Span bit is BAD news. We need some good health news for a change. Lucky for us our division is terrible so we should be able to hang on until we get some guys back on the field.

And yeah, the god damn Reds. WTF????????
