What amuses and bewilders me is how a team could give a three-year contract to a thirty-eight-year old. Yes, Nash is one of the great point guards in the game's history, and, yes, he was still playing very efficiently and productively in Phoenix, albeit in a system that catered to him. But he was thirty-eight, and would turn thirty-nine in the middle of the next season. At that age, multi-year contracts should be off the table, as a team should really just go year-to-year with a player. And anyone who gives a three-year contract to someone at that age should be fired or should sell the team in shame.
