Thanks to all the members here who gave there sympathy to the victims of yesterdays tragic bombings at the Boston marathon. those of us who live here in Mass, some very close to the site, are very shaken up by what happened. Some of us had relatives who were there but thankfully weren't injured, some of us knew someone who ran. the president usually runs for the cancer association but because of a recent staff infection he's recovering from wasn't able to run this year. He would have crossed the finish line somewhere around the time of the bombings and would have had family and friends there at the finish line waiting and cheering him on. I could tell today that he was somewhat affected by what happened and so grateful his family wasn't there. sometimes we get carried away here arguing about many things, but in the end we're all Americans with families and I'm sure this event has touched most of us one way or another. again, thanks for your support, sympathy, and prayers for those killed and injured.

Andrew Ference was interviewed or something and he explained that he spoke to his 6 yr old about this incident and explained that there are bad evil people in the world. He then said look at all of those brave heroic people who are running into it to help the people injured..

Something like that anyways.

Also pretty nice for all of the sports teams in other cities and countries having a moment of silence for Boston.

Boston is a strong city built on history and the original, American ideals. Of course our sympathy goes out to you guys, but as a city I don't think Boston needs it.

The city will be fine.

Very true no matter how many terrible people there are in the world there will always be more trying to make it a better place. My thoughts are with Boston.

Furthermore it was not just Boston that was attacked. yesterday was chosen because it was a major international gathering with several runners and tourists from around the world....perfect opportunity for these cowards to strike at the world.
I just can help but be a little bothered by the fact people are praying for Boston like it was just them that was attacked yesterday...it was all of us. Sorry if this offends but just how I feel.

Well maybe next time you'll be the lucky one to have the bomb go off in your neighborhood. Douche

I suppose you are right but when it happens like BTM said in your back yard it becomes a part of you. A lot of people will forget this in a couple weeks and wont think about it until next years marathon. We wont forget it for a long time and that is the difference.

On a much more positive note. Classy move by the Yankees, Cubs, and Indians (maybe more) playing Sweet Caroline during the stretch last night.
