Tough guys never have to prove how tough they are.

Funny guys never have to prove how funny they are.

Great QB's don't have to prove it, and neither do their fans.

I never see fans of the Steelers, Pats, Broncos, Saints, etc having to prove to other fan bases how great their guys are. There's no point. We know they're great.

Now, those fan bases (especially when it comes to Manning v. Brady) argue who's the GOAT but that's another discussion.

Do Pats fans have to prove Tom Brady is great, PERIOD? No.

Nor do Steelers fans, Saints fans, etc. but if you're one of those fans that you're constantly throwing out stats to show other fans how great your QB is...

Here's another one....

If there's anyone arguing that your QB is over paid, he's not a great QB.

I don't hear anyone saying Drew Brees is over paid, do you? Big Ben? Tom Brady? Payton Manning? Nope.

Great QB's get that kind of money. So if you're hearing that your QB is over paid and/or you're constantly have to prove how great your QB is....

He's not a great QB.

Solid? Yes...but not great.

So things regular posters who are fans of other teams and their comments prove as fact who is, or is not great?

That's what this waste of space is attempting to sell us.

I didn't see one mention of Rodgers.

Rodgers > Roethlisberger
Rodgers > Brees

Manning and Brady's careers are coming to an end, and when these guys retire, Rodgers will be the new #1.

I like Big Ben and all but I don't consider him great. Very good but not great! This comes across to me as Joe Flacco is an solid but not great over paid QB.

I think Ben's good too. Just not Manning, Brady or Rodgers good.

Yeah when reading this I didn't really view it as a trying to lift up Roethlisberger to the level of those other guys but more a shot at Flacco for being an overpaid quarterback that nobody outside of Baltimore considers elite.

That's because you know (as do I) that the OP obsesses about the Ravens and Flacco in particular. He's particularly butthurt because Flacco just broke Ben's record for most victories in the first 6 years of a QB's career. Throw in the facts that the Steelers have been irrelevant since they were Tebowed while the Ravens have been front and center? I'm just hoping the OP is on suicide watch.

Elite or not, he has the same amount of rings as Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning, and no the Ravens do not win the Superbowl last season without him.

Any buffoon can wait for a QB to have 1, 2, 3, rings and then make some ridiculous argument that they don't have to defend their status.

The real trick is to say "this" QB is great before he wins anything.

:agree:

And if his name rhymes with Hustle Schmilson, you got à great QB.

I think this is pretty simple...we throw the word great around too easily in sports today imo.

Regardless of who you root for...the great QBs of this era are all going to be in HOF when they hang up the cleats...imo P.Manning, are Brady are the only 1st ballot guys. If their seasons ended today...Brees will get in on his #s, Ben will likely get in as well with 3 SB appearances...Rodgers, more probable than maybe, but the rest still have work to do.

Maybe I'm leaving somebody out but this is how I see it.
