Anytime you have the opportunity to draft a guy with chronic back issues and inconsistent play, I think you have to jump on it.

Yes, but he has a 'high motor'

Looking to the Big XII for defense, huh?

Phillips is rising extremely fast because of his athletic ability at that size. A lot of people are comparing him to Poe. If his back checks out he may not even be around at 21. Not necessarily saying that is who I want them to take, but I could easily see it.

Oh, and you're an idiot. Took 9 posts for someone to call the OP of a draft thread an idiot? We're slippin'.

The draft is littered with busts that have athletic ability and size but no production. I don't fault you for calling it -- You're absolutely correct. Teams go gaga over these types of players. And he probably will rise as everyone ignores reality and just hopes for the best. But are there more than a handful of examples of injury prone (or chronically injured guys) in college staying healthy in the NFL? I guess Gronk is the best case scenario, but New England fans are terrified every time someone breaths on him.

Oh I agree, I honestly haven't watched enough of him to make a real comment on his ability. I'm only about 100-120 players in. However, teams love this type of player. Big, athletic, tons of potential. If NE picked him he would probably be an all-pro, if we pick him he will be injured and out of the league in 3 years.

If we go DT I want Malcom Brown or Danny Shelton. We won't end up with either of course. Not a fan of the Phillips kid. I live in Big XII country and I honestly hadn't really heard of him before he declared for the draft. Hearing that he has back issues is a no go for me.
