This one is for the trade down crowd. I used nfldraftbuzz rankings, so all of these picks are at or lower than Draft Buzz’s rankings:

Trade down to 33 with Cleveland:
Browns receive 20, 191 and 197 (two 6th rounders)
Broncos receive 33 and 67 (3rd pick of the third round)

33. one of the available Hmen RB’s - Hampton or Henderson (Hampton was ranked 31 and Henderson 54, meaning we could get him with our second pick - but I don’t think that’s realistic)
51, Alfred Collins, DT, Texas ( this one w a tip of the cap to LGM)
67. Mason Taylor, TE, LSU
85. Savion Williams WR, TCU ( DC has me convinced)
122. Brashard Smith, RB, SMU
208. Jay Higgins, LB, Iowa

Of course every round has its challenging choices, but especially late. I almost selected a punter, Burnip from Bama with the 6th round pick. But with only 6 picks, I figure we will sign an UFA.

I actually really like this. Nitpick on the TE, but if our draft fell this way I'd be happy.

One more nitpick would be instead of giving up our later round picks Id rather drop further than 67, pick up a te like Helm a round or two later, and let the numbers game work for the Paytons.

Like the draft but don't like trading the 2 6th rounders. No reason to include those IMO.

i would love to trade out and be the first pick on day two

for what we need the player at 33 is the same as at 20.

you should get calls for that #33 pick so plenty of options

Using the traditional trade chart:

Gain 240 points in the trade down
Pick 67 was 255

Leaves a negative 15

191 were 15/13, I read the chart wrong. So you are right, we would keep 197.

We’ll take the Bama punter to make you happy. ;). Or

I would like Burnip. He's a big boy with lots of hang time. :) Overall, this is an ideal draft though. Savion is a new age Taysom Hill and Henderson/Taylor/Smith are all matchup issue guys.

I still don't think we need to include either 6th though.

Last year, the Lions trades 29 and 73 to the Cowboys for the 24 and a 7th this year.
In 2022, the Chiefs got 21 for 29, 94 and 121

You may be right. I was trying to go strictly by the chart so I wouldn’t be accused of being a homer!

However if the Browns want a player bad enough to trade back into the first to get him, they will certainly give up the 15 points.

My thought for the trade? They don’t take a QB at 3, let’s say they take Travis Hunter at 3, They move back into the first to take Dart to have him under control for five years. (Realistically he is probably gone by then)

This is definitely realistic depending if teams really value Dart as some analyst are starting to talk about. I could see the Broncos getting better value than what the charts show because it is QB and a team will know decent chance the Steelers take him if he is there at 21. So we could see a bidding war for the spot and once QB's get involved the charts go out the window.

Steelers being at 21 is exactly why I had us targeted for a team looking to trade up. Past them in round 1, no team needs a QB - but that doesn’t preclude another team moving back into the latter part of round 1.

It definitely makes sense. And the price will all depend how many teams have a 1st round grade on Dart and get into the bidding war. Most of the late 1st round QB's haven't commanded a lot, but there have been some to secure a decent deal.

The Manziel trade for example they gave up pick 26 and a 3rd to move up 4 spots. Good value for the Eagles in that trade.

Broncos found themselves giving up a lot to get Tebow giving up pick 43 and then their 3rd and 4th round picks to move up to 25.

The biggest though that we could hope for was the Browns trading up from 36 to pick 22 and getting Brady Quinn. They gave up pick 36 in 2007 and then their 1st round pick in 2008 to get him.

Bills also made a similar trade for JP Losman. Sent pick 43, and a 4th and 5th round pick then a 1st round pick the next year to move up to 22.

Seems like those kind of trades though mostly happened 20 years ago compared to the ones we are seeing today.

Trade down again 33 could have value being the top pick of day 2. (not as much as other drafts).

By the time you are done - we will have every pick in the 7th round.

It will be a boring draft until we get the 40 picks in the 7th!

Well if we can get 40 Vele's then I would feel pretty good about our chances. At least we would have some nice depth across the board.

Even if you could bolster RB TE WR DL Day 2 of the draft is the best. I know its too Madden to trade down over and over.
