This makes no fucking sense.

at all.

I took time to explain the reasons for each team later. If you read that and disagree about something, fine. But at least be specific with your reasons. 90% here are millennials who play video games all day and have no knowledge or respect for history. They wouldn't know quality football if it hit them in the face.

Just look at them here.. spending 11+ pages posting cartoons about male genitalia. They're literally obsessed with homosexual sex, everything they talk about is centered on it. Everything. Draw your own conclusions to what that means. Really disturbing stuff.

OPs right. Let's stop with the childish games. Droider is a valued member here and should be treated as such.

If you are so much older and wiser than everyone else on this site, why the fuck do you waste your time on here? That actually speaks more about you than it does everyone else.

There is a difference between liking players on certain teams and wanting certain teams to do better than others bc you want your teams to play them or your team is out of contention. You are just a bandwagon fan or a fan that doesn't have a team. A true fan - a fan dedicated to one favorite team and if that team doesn't win it all it doesn't matter. It's all Cleveland for me, as well as Ohio St. If my team is out of contention I will root for other teams but them winning means absolutely nothing. You are just a universal fan, it looks like. You don't have a team and honestly that sucks for you because it doesn't mean as much when "the team you root for" wins.

That's a fair general statement and I already said as much. But that doesn't mean 'bandwagon'. I just grew up as a huge football fan really addicted to the game and all the rivalries and traditions between NFL and CFB teams. Been to probably 20 or so different CFB stadiums and campuses. And more than half of the NFL. But I still have my favorites and hated teams too, so it's actually very satisfying because you always have a stake in multiple games.

When you're young, you develop a liking for certain teams and some of those reasons might seem silly today in retrospect, but that's life as a fan and those teams always stick with you. For example, you also made the comment about the Utes helmet and saying that's a dumb reason. Thing is, I've always loved the Indian mascots and imagery. Like the Redskins, Noles, Braves, etc. were all awesome to me and I hate PC liberals whose goal has been to remove all history. Just makes me like those teams even more.

Anyway, many kept asking about my teams and said I didn't have any, so I decided to answer with reasoning.. really not a big deal.

Sure, many will pretend they've never had lots of favorites. Fact is, the vast majority here are millennials with no knowledge or appreciation of history, thus their opinions are irrelevant.

But if you're a huge football fan, true historian, and grew up during the Golden Age of the NFL and CFB, you go through periods of time where you get attached to certain teams and programs for various reasons.

Here's mine:

LSU - DEATH VALLEY + Savage Defense + Saban + SEC speed + Hot women + Corndogs
VT - Bruce Smith + old school Beamer + Defense + savage Special Teams & Blocked punts for TD's
Ole Miss - Colonel Reb + Confederate Flag + Uniforms + Archie Manning + Hottest girls & best parties
FSU - Warchant + Defense + Speed + Bobby Bowden + Deion Sanders + Helmets + hated Miami & Florida
Ohio State - Bucknut stickers + The Shoe + Speed + Cris Carter + Eddie George + always hated Michigan
Alabama - Defense + Bear Bryant + Tide Man + Crimson + Helmet numbers + Saban + Savage + SEC speed
Nebraska - Tom Osborne + Blackshirts + Defense + Lawrence Phillips + Ahman Green + always hated OU & UT
Washington - Don James + Defense + Cold + Loud fans + Purple + Napoleon Kaufman
Georgia - Hershel Walker + Helmets + Uga + Between The Hedges + Defense + SEC speed
Clemson - Death Valley Jr + the Rock + crazy Fans + Sick helmets & colors + Speed
Mich State - Saban + Defense + Dantonio + Andre Rison + Lorenzo White + hated Michigan
North Carolina - Lawrence Taylor + all Powder blue Uni's + Helmets + Sideline hedges
Utah - Helmet Logo + Defense + vicious Crowd
Wyoming - Brown & Yellow Colors (reminded me of retro SD Padres) + Helmet logo + quality Country Folk
Army - Always cheered for them against Navy b/c guys in Army fight hand-to-hand, not from boats

NFC:

1A. Whoever plays Green Bay - detest the Packers
1B. Seahawks - Curt Warner + Steve Largent + Dave Krieg + Kingdome + angry Seahawk Eye helmets
2. Panthers - Dom Capers + Defense + Steve Smith + Cam + expansion team
3. Lions - Barry Sanders + Mike Utley + Silverdome + Logo + Megatron + buffoon Wayne Fontes
4. Falcons - Deion Sanders + Bad Moon Rison + Fulton County Stadium + retro all-red Helmets & Uni's
5. Vikings - Purple People Eaters + Tarkenton + Cris Carter + freezing Cold + Jerry Burns + Helmets

AFC:

1A. Whoever plays New England - detest the Patriots
1B. Bengals - Jungle + Helmets + Ickey Woods + Boomer Esiason + Collinsworth
2. Chiefs - Derrick Thomas + Warchant + Helmets + Christian Okoye + Arrowhead Crowd
3. Ravens - used to be the Browns who I loved b/c of Dog Pound+ sick Defense + Ray Lewis
4. Colts - Logo + Helmets + Eric Dickerson + Manning + Wayne + Harrison + Faulk
5. Texans - felt bad for Houston fans because I loved the Oilers and Warren Moon

This doesn't help your case.

My biggest problem is with so many rooting interests and many of them conflicting in the same division/conference.

Its fine to like certain players or teams more than others, but it doesn't make any sense to list a rotating set of "favorite" teams. I rooted for the Broncos to win last year after because I wanted Manning to retire a winner. Doesn't make me a Broncos fan or them one of my rotating favorite teams. I have one favorite NFL team... end of story. Anything more would be uncivilized...

Dude you are the epitome of a bandwagon fan. You don't know what its really like to be "down" with a team. You support teams trending up and then bail when shit gets rough. What about this being bandwagon do you not get!?

NFLShop.com must be making a killing off of you each year.

It's actually not bad because they rarely ever conflict. And when they do, I'll just root for whoever has the better chance at the title that season. Or whoever has the better chance of keeping a different team who I hate out of the BCS/playoffs. I'm always thinking ahead of how the CFB season will play out and adjust accordingly.

I also root against some of these 'favorite' programs who have lost their way in the hope it'll improve their chances to fire their coach, AD, or whoever it takes to get better. Examples of this currently are Nebraska, LSU, VT, Georgia. And past examples have been Ole Miss, Washington, and K-State who had been in the doldrums forever. If you really take a careful look at my entire lists for CFB and NFL, you'll see that well over half of these teams have never really won anything meaningful.

I actually rooted for Denver too because of Manning. Plus, I was just so thrilled they had beat the Patriots (my #1 priority), that I didn't mind seeing them rewarded for then beating the Panthers. I would've been happy if the Panthers had won too, but this was a good ending regardless. I was just so freaked out the Patriots were going to make the SB and then fluke out with another SB win somehow

Those old Right Guard commercials were good, I'll give ya that.

If you are so much older and wiser than everyone else on this site, why the fuck do you waste your time on here? That actually speaks more about you than it does everyone else.

First off, you already know the answer to this from our board. And frankly WH, I'm getting sick of your crap already.. really I am. There's two reasons why you're still pissed. First, I was one of the very few Hawks fans who said we should NOT have felt "ok", "good", or had that pussy "We'll get 'em next time" attitude about the 2014 season when Wilson single handedly cost us the SB against the damn Patriots. What kind of fan thinks to themselves.. "Gee, we should've just won the SB, but it's ok guys that our "great" QB just threw a 1-yd interception on the goal line instead of feeding Beast Mode. We'll be back guys don't worry". Seriously, who thinks like that? Frankly, losers do and those who don't demand winning. I hate defeatists and you know that.

And then that conversation got hijacked by the numerous Wilson apologists who decided to criticize Bevell instead. And then I laughed at you guys who did that, since I was already on record saying that Carroll should've fired Bevell the prior offseason. In the end, you realized you had no legs to stand on, but just couldn't admit it and get over it. And I won't even get into the disaster of last season where I warned everyone things were coming undone.

Anyway, I'm not going to let up this season either, so don't act like a baby and get all distraught when I tell the truth and criticize the coaching staff and team when needed. If we start slow during the 1H of games like usual, I will hammer Bevell. If Wilson keeps backpedaling and taking 20-yd sacks, I'll lose it. And if the defense continues coughing up leads in the 4th qtr, I will be calling for Kris Richard's head again. Got it?

So I'm supposed to remember who you are from some convo a couple of seasons ago? :L Sorry, but I honestly have no idea what you are on about, but I'm thrilled you have it stuck in your craw enough to still be all upset over it these years later. That's fucking awesome.

Keep patting yourself on the back over whatever you feel you need to. I think most find it amusing you keep feeling some sense of superiority when clearly there isn't any.

I'll ask again because you can't/won't answer it, but if you are so much older and smarter than literally everyone else on this site why are you here?

As for "our" board... :burt: You are no hawks fan so don't attempt to include yourself in that group. Given your list here it's clear you aren't one of "us".

I don't know about others, but the first thing I associate with an individual on this board (or any other college sports discussion venue) is the school for which a person roots. So when you have a person who switches schools more often than he/she changes her/his underwear, you have a person that is essentially actively working to remain an anonymous face in the crowd.

Honestly, you're just pathetic at this point WH. How about when I met a few guys at one of the outings planned on the board two seasons ago when I was able to make it to the Link. Drinks beforehand too. And you pretending to also forget about those SB threads is just icing on the cake. Won't be taking you seriously anymore.

I was a bit amused when he attempted to call into question my fandom over how he remembers me reacting to a game my ONE nfl team was in. That was kind of special. Who the hell is going to take that seriously? :noidea:

Oh I remember well the aftermath of that game and the stupidity all over the place. I just simply don't specifically remember anything involving you and really don't care if you believe that or not. I basically ignore most of the ignorant trolls and rarely bother to commit their handles to memory. You clearly fall in that category.

Again, why are you here? This site and everyone in it are so far beneath the vast history and wisdom you bring. Why waste your time?
