Illinois state is going to take it this year.

Even though they are 0-6 against the top 3 seeds, they did play most of those games relatively close. They actually do match up pretty well with Wichita State. I think they're better than their record indicates.

I too love Arch Madness, I am pretty sure I have seen about the last 8 championship games of the MVC Tourney despite not having a dog in the fight, always a great game.

Always a good tourney in STL. Too bad Southern Illinois isn't that good anymore. I remember when they were an automatic tourney team and made it to a few sweet 16's as well with some swarming D.

Yeah, I'm an isu alumn, I just got to be a homer here. They are about a year away from being very good though. I really don't expect them to beat either wsu or uni.

Yeah, the atmosphere is really great. I never have a dog in the fight either, but this tournament always produces great games.

Those SIU teams were dominant for several years if I remember, always made the tournament. I believe they were a top 10 team in the regular season in 2007.

Good game last night sparty. I thought Purdue was going to win, but Sparty came out and play D in the 2nd half. Izzo is the man, especially this time of the year.

Meanwhile, looks like another kid from Illinois is going to win POY and not in Orange and Blue.

U of I is terrible at basketball and football. There are years that they aren't even the best team in the state of Illinois. The best prospects would be crazy to go there to play basketball when they can go to an actual good basketball school. It's kind of sad to see how far that program has fallen since bill self.

Terrible in football yes. Not in bball. They're not the 2005 Illini. But this team has a lot of under classmen talent and a few seniors that don't really mix well. Nunn and Hill are good players, but we just need a post game.

Groce is starting to get better players and from the Chicago area as well. Not the best players yet, but hopefully we can grab one.

Illinois state vs Wichita state today at 1:30 cst. I am just hoping for a close game. I think isu has a shot to pull this one out if they can come out and play quality basketball for two halves.
