He gets a pay increase at $5.625 mil/year for another 4 years. I would think he would test out free agency and see what the market dictates, but the $16mil signing bonus probably doesn't hurt.
Last week, but Kovalchuk to Washington is interesting. Montreal signed him, and used him two months before getting a 3rd out of it. Not too awful for them. Kings will be paying him $6.5 mil next year to not play. haha.
Vegas really going for it, and with the west looking like it does, I wouldn't really blame them. I am going to bet $2000 on them winning the cup to soften the blow when they do.
