I love where Mikael has gone with Opeth. So looking forward to his Storm Corrosion release with Steven Wilson.

Dont get me wrong. I love death metal. But Mikael Akerfeldt is far too talented to be restricted to that genre. I am a huge fan of 60's/70's prog rock. This is what he belongs making.

No doubt. I feel like Akerfeldt belongs on Ipecac Records, not in the band that Opeth envisioned. I'm a huge fan of him, but just not 60/70s prog, even though, lol, I'm a diehard RUSH/YES/ZAPPA fan. I just don't think Heritage works with the rest of their catalog in a live show.

you don't like Steven Wilson, Mo Cutter?

I mean he does have forearms like popeye, but he's a good guitar player.

I guess on Storm Corrosion, Mikael handles the majority of the guitar work, with Steven handling keyboard duties. They say only 15-20% of the album has drums on it by Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree.

I preordered the special edition, can't fucking wait for May 7th.

I've seen each "Opeth", Heritage was a much better show than Blackwater Park. And, like I said, I love death metal. He has found what he is. Why should a band be confined to one genre? They were progressive from the beginning slowly moving in this direction. Shouldn't really be a surprise.

God, Mikael and Steven are both musical geniuses. Storm Corrosion is going to be amazing. I hope I don't have my hopes too high.

Nah, I've actually never caught them live, or even seen any footage. I'll check it out now though.

Also PPT's bassist has this dopey, 1,000 yard stare, child molester look to him.

and

All steven wilson does when he plays guitar is sway and flip his hair around. Damn hippie...

lmao, I was just gonna say, the bassist is in his own little world, in a creepy way.
