If Marco is this franchise's ACE, the M's are in a world of hurt. I think this is Dipoto's 6 year, and if that is true, he is either doing a piss poor job (which I am not certain of that) or ownership doesn't really give a damn whether the M's have a winning season or not. If ownership doesn't loosen the purse strings, no GM will have a winning team. Dipoto's continued support of Servais as the team's manager leads me to question his objective competence as a GM. (M's ownership may have just gotten the Angel's problem GM along with his side kick Scott Servais). Servais just doesn't seem to know how to strategically manage his pitching staff and seems more interested in being "Mr. Nice Guy" with the whole team. This team has some young upcoming talent, no doubt, but it seems we would still be at the least, a good 2+ years out before the team will be competetive. IMO, Servais needs to be replaced, and if Jerry won't do that, Jerry needs to go to. I know my stating this probably pisses off some of you, but after a number of years of this franchise's performance, something big needs to happen instead of the same old shit year in and year out.
noo your good ..duders...they deserve...some of what you are saying..but on the other hand...in just..this spot where the mariners are..with the team rebuild
is where san diego...and tampa..where..then.a few years ago.............it is not easy..in just this spot..right before they start winning
and they had to rebuild a farm system..as well..then car..crash..covid..and you kind of have to start over..from where your miners league ..are
that..is and was..really no help
they are off to a rough start...yeah that is for sure..with injurys..lewis and paxton..really do not help...yeah..,they could really use

full time 2B and let moore be utility guy..??..yep..then let trammell ,,fraley..and kelenic..fight for Lf

that is where they are..and..it will take time to fix thoughs things...still..........i would say..covid threw the rebuild timing off by a year at least
and it is an..evaluation...work in progress..with miners guys comming ...at some point this year..starting with kelenic..and gilbert

if they keep playing like today...it would be sooner rather than later.

..ulmax..out...have a good one duders

Actually, you have a valid point. Had it been any other organization, any sport, this level of incompetence would not have lasted a sixth season. But Dipoto has such a boner for Servais and refuses to admit something is wrong. Although this is still well early in the season, as long as these two are working together on this team, it's not going to be much of a season. Might as well tank the rest of it until someone else comes in who proves they give a shit about performance.

I'm pissed off!!!!
:pound: ...it's better to be pissed off than to be pissed on :thumb: I'm well beyond being pissed off. It's just plain old sad that a city the size of Seattle with a HUGE fan base must take it in/up the rear.....year after year. The excitement just isn't there like it used to be.

You’re good. I got most of anger out of the way in the off-season when they decided to be cheap again and not care about winning any quicker. If there’s one thing that maybe slightly happy about the Paxton injury, it’s knowing that Stanton wasn’t able to pocket an extra 8 mill plus and essentially wasted it.
I got nothing for Servais. It’s year 6 and he still does the same stuff. He is who he is and it’s up to Dipoto to change that. That’s something he does have control over I would think. Hopefully the lineup looks a little better in a few weeks once Lewis and Kelenic back. However there’s already a couple of the young core that I’m losing faith in with White and Crawford. So idk. I’m trying to keep it in perspective because based on the way they handled the offseason, winning games isn’t the main goal this year

Man ou have been reading my stuff way too long...lol. I think I have posted these rants once or a million times. I honestly haven't watched a complete game in years. It is so painful to watch subpar talent with tee ball like managing and uninterested ownership.

Unfortunately I'm moving beyond pissed off I'm moving towards no longer caring

And that's the worst thing possible for any company.
Ya I have already moved into no longer caring avenue years ago. For a day 1 fan, I have heard these same excuses and watched the same mismanagement for decades. I want to believe, but I have already did the fool me once shame on you part and I am not going to the fool me twice shame on me part.

working on a new fantasy line up..for mariners....

1unkown..2b/SS..leadoff hitter

2 haniger...........RF..i can go with mitch..as lead off no prob..or anywhere else in the line up..for that matter..so if i had my druthersi wiil put him in the #2spot
but as long as i am search..mlb for a 2B..to trade for..may as well make it..a leadoff hitter as well..that narrows..the field of possilbes

#3 france.......DH/3b/2b
#4 lewis.............CF/LF............they would be doing a bit better..if they had lewis right now........they still would not have won..prob..yesterday
#5 seager.............3B+
#6.white/maro
#7trammell/fraley/kelenic
#8 murphy/torrens
#9 crawford.............SS

10 torrens..........catch
11 moore..........utility
12 marmo............1B/LF
13fraley/kelenic

I see Pineda has been on the David Ortiz diet since he left the Mariners. I didn't even recognize him and had to check and see if he was the same guy.

Just when I thought we might have a W, Montero doing a crappy job trying to close out the 2 innings, tosses a wild pitch and the twins tie is up in the bottom of the 8th. Damn!!

It isn’t so much Dipoto has the boner for Servais though. It is just Servais got lumped in with Jerry’s extension. You cannot justify Jerry having a job if he fires Servais. It is kind of the catch 22 of giving extensions when both failed at their first vision of the franchise.

Holy cheet. This team looked half ways decent, thanks to speed on the bags. A W has got to make these guys feel good.

I've been pretty MIA since the season started but my initial thoughts so far:

- I'm stunned that Haniger somehow looks like the exact same guy he was before he went through all those injuries.
- I really think that Ty France is the real deal.
- I don't know why but I really don't want to see Seager depart.
- This team strikes out way too much.
- I'm starting to lose faith in Evan White.
- Still not convinced that J.P. Crawford or Dylan Moore are long-term solutions.

I really hate Servais.
