Oh I forgot this from the 4th. My ex-wifes stepbrother is up from Cali. He and I played sports against each other in high school. He became a local cop until he retired a few years back and now is some head of student discipline at Cal Baptist College in Riverside (the team that beat Huskies in basketball this year). He told me that the story in that area is all about Ohtani wanting to come to Seattle and not LA. He said Ohtani has said he doesn't like the big market there. I just found that interesting. The guy is a big Mariners fan and we were together when we heard the horrible news about Jose Cruz Jr being traded for two relievers.

It's kinda funny when you read about how Ohtani actually WANTED to come to Seattle.

Until you realize that the front office just simply can't have anyone setting a precedent for the rest of the team.

Haven’t they been saying that since the season started though? Granted it’s the internet but I’ve seen reports where deals were on the verge with O’Neill, Nootbar and Donovan. Haven’t seen one for Gorman though. I even saw some ridiculous one the Mariners could get Arenado or Goldschmidt if the Mariners pick up the rest of the entire contract.

The older I get and the more I travel the more I think about things like playing an away game almost 24 hours after your last game two time zones away. I can't imagine that's easy if you're a creature of habit.

Couldn't do it.

Lol I only realized I had a fear of heights when I first went up to The Edge in NYC. Highest observation platform in the western hemisphere. Had a panic attack when I was in the elevator going up that didn't cease when I got to the top. Couldn't go anywhere near the windows lol. Incredible view but a shame I couldn't enjoy it.
