No competent GM decides to try to fix bad offense by adding home run hitters. How can people not understand that?

It's great that Cruz can, and he's doing his part. Love him, and am glad he's on the team.

But any truly contending club has to be fundamentally built around getting on base, and Z is not a good GM, so he just tries skipping that step. Cruz hitting off his rocker like he's doing just proves what SeattleCoug, ZA, and I are saying even more.

You don't get it... Cruz doesn't just hit HR's, he hit's for average too.. He's hitting .347... Did you just want to bring a guy who hit's doubles? If so, how the hell was someone on this team was going to hit him in?

It's obvious the team saw progress from Seager and Cano last year... The M's were almost dead last in HR's, it's something they needed to add... Outside Cruz, Jackson/Cano/ Seager aren't pulling their weight right now and it's killing our offense... Fingers need to start be pointed at Cano because he's struggling...

The problem is, Jackson, Cano aren't getting on base and Seager isn't hitting Cruz in when he get's on base... Adding Seth Smith was a good idea, he's a guy that swung the bat well...

It's easy to point the finger but adding a guy like Cruz was a necessity for this team... Average and Power is what we needed from the middle of the order...

If I added right, M's are 5-5 in games Cruz homers. No reflection on Cruz of course, he has been more than expected, but just shows long ball is not the end all be all of winning baseball. Cezero said it earlier, on-base baseball is where it is at...with a mix of Cruz of course.

I didn't hear the postgame, did Lloyd take accountability for how shitty his defense played or Jack take accountability for the fact that Jesus Montero can play LF as well as Weeks. The team's lack of identity is a fireable offense by Jack but the constant mistakes by the players is strictly on Lloyd and his free pass for last September has passed.
