The Washington Post leaves the door open for the Redskins to possibly cut third-round OT Morgan Moses.
Beat writer Mike Jones does write that it would be "hard to see them giving up on a third-round pick this quickly." But Moses is having trouble adjusting to the speed and strength of NFL pass rushers. Tom Compton has outplayed Moses as the No. 3 tackle behind starters LT Trent Williams and RT Tyler Polumbus. Moses' name was brought up as a potential first- or second-rounder before going 66th overall to Washington. He may be a weekly scratch in year one.


What is up with this? Gruden says he is happy with Moses progression.

He was abused in college by much smaller guys. Speed is his downfall. If he ever plays in the NFL, it will have to be on the interior. Even most UVA fans think he should have been inside.

We actually skipped him and traded back and still got him... Even tho, lots of skins fans were crying to take him earlier. He's going to take development. And we most likely won't see him this year given what we've heard so far. But it's early times yet in his pro career. Way to early to be writing him off, IMO.

I would say him getting. It is a McJob reach at this point. But I agree with 46, he was a good lineman in college... But has never been known to be a super athletic kind of guy. Only time will tell, but he could make the move inside pretty easily IMO if t comes to that.

He isn't going to be cut. At worst, he will be on the practice squad for a year. The drafted him to high and he has too many of the physical attributes to cut him this year.

Some times drafting a guy is simply a mistake. Moses just might not be a good fit for what we are trying to do on offense.

Could very well be true. But they will give more than just this preseason before they cut him loose. he has too may positive attributes. They can stash him away for a year to see if he has any potential.

We drafted him in the 3rd round. If he makes it to the practice squad, that means 31 other teams also found serious flaws in his game. Kid either needs to make the 53, or stop wasting our time.
