Dont all players hit waivers every year...... Making it though waivers is a different story.

All players? So you think Manny Machado or Yasiel Puig are on waivers right now?

LOL they could be an nothing would happen if they were.

Twins put Mauer on waivers last year. Avoided doing it this year because so many fans are stupid and don't know how the waiver process works. THought we were actually just handing the guy over and getting rid of him.

Yeah, most players are put on waivers. jsut makes them able to be traded. Young cheap guys that teams are never going to trade (Profar for example) won't hit waivers, but I'd bet most guys on non-contenders are on waivers.

Yeah in august dont most team put the majority of their players on waivers and if they get claimed they pull them back. if not then they are free to negotiate any trade involving them.

Pirates, O's and Rays were all reportedly interested before the deadline, so one of those teams might try to get him. He's had a really good August (six of his 14 HRs this month), so that could spark some interest. Probably a better fit on one of AL teams so he could DH some.

Might be much easier to work out a deal for Morneau than one for Miggy.

Brewers put Kyle Lohse on waivers and snapped him back up when he was claimed. They didn't see any deal that could be made with the team that claimed him. I think Adam Dunn and Melky were put on waivers as well.

There is also a lot of politics involved, claiming guys you have no need for just to keep a rival from getting him.

I think Morneau could help a lot of teams so long as the price is right. The problem is that he's so much more valuable to the Twins. If they let him go for the Liriano pu-pu platter (Escobar and Hernandez) the fan base will scream salary dump and attendance will drop. Twins desperately need top pitching prospects but Morneau isn't going to bring one back in a trade now. Tough one for the Twins but I think he stays put.

Add Konerko to the list, and the reports are that it looks like he will clear waivers. I always liked Paulie, but he's clearly coming to the end. Still, i'm betting someone grabs him for at least a bat off the bench.

My most hated baseball player type. The type that loses it all of a sudden, between one year to the next, without the benefit of an otherwise career ending injury. You were once a fantasy stallworth. Now, Paulie, you are dead to me.

I think most people don't understand how waivers work.

Most teams put a lot of guys on them resulting in absolutely nothing.

The Blue Jays are nefarious with waivers.

A stallworth? You mean he hits homeless people with his car?

Nefarious? Is it really evil to make a lot of waiver moves?
