Redskins Rookie Review - Morgan Moses

this is a pretty fair look at him

i think he is more of a OG

but forrest gump the o/line coach stuck with crap vets while rookies long and moses were shunned

that hurt this team

They say he could be ready by training camp which is good we need him practicing under Callahan to get better and figure out which position he should play Guard or Right Tackle

I'm not so sure about him playing guard. If his fault is that he gets too high, that's even worse as a guard. First, none of our QBs are very tall. Last thing they need is a 6'7" guard right in their vision. Second, NGs tend to be shorter and rely on getting under the Guard's shoulder pads for leverage, a guard that starts too high makes that an easy task and can be routinely driven back in to the backfield.

I believe Callahan can really help him develop

I hope so, because Forester sure didn't develop any of the linemen we've drafted over the last 5 years. We've drafted 8-10 OL and not one has ever really contributed.

Besides McCloughan the Callahan hiring was my next favorite I'm really hoping Barry proves us wrong and it was just talent on previous teams that makes him look bad which it was

There's some real football talk ... LEAVERAGE is so important in football. The way to combat the leverage is long arms, punch the guy before he can get into Moses or a tall guys body. Moses can make it work but once inside and up under him then the DL has the advantage.

Not sure where the talk of moving him to guard came from. We've all been frustrated at the lack of development with the young OL. Now was it the coach or were they just crappy players? But if they weren't ready it made no sense to put them in the game.

As for Moses as i said nobody on this team needed a full offseason more than this guy. I still like his potential, if nothing else he will probably serve as a solid backup LT to Trent. But there is no way they can count on him being in the mix to start at RT in game 1.
