The only thing I didn't like about this movie was the ending...I think they admitted that they just punted because they were running out of money (most of which came from George Harrison).
Well, also Carol Cleveland never got naked.

If you don't like Python's combination of dry and absurdist humor, just walk away. Some of their best work if they tickle your fancy.

In before the 'over-rated British drivel!'

But seriously, one of my faves of all time, but comedy is pretty subjective.

We can't agree on something.

I have to hate this now.

(this is one of my all time faves)

So long as I don't have to start appreciating full house, we're good.

ok, that was just mean by me.

I laughed.

I don't pretend that Full House is award winning worthy. But for me it represents a fun memory. Watching it as part of the friday night lineup with Family Matters (ask me about how much I love Steve Urkel some time ;) ).

It was great back then.

50 years… Still holds up.

Tis A Silly Place: Fatherhood and Finding the Holy Grail, 50 Years On

He speaks of how he & his future FIL bonded around this damn movie and how his soon to be wife to this day remains baffled and I felt that one to my core because my late FIL & I would quote lines from it as his wife & daughter stared at us in bewilderment.

And - my grandsons do it now.

THAT - is the mark of an all timer.

It's funny how one can recite movies or skits or songs that may even be 50 years old, must have been a helluva impression,
This movie has a certain genius in comedy, I love it. I too can recite the movie. I think it's a masterpiece. Along with Blazzing Saddles it broke open humor at the time. I will watch it over and over but ya have to have that brand of humor in you to enjoy it.

Monty Python took comedy to a whole different level.
George Harrison once called Monty Python, The Beatles of comedy.
They could do any type of comedy, they wanted.
There are very few comedians, in their god structure.
The early SNL people, thought Monty Python comedians were gods.
The TV series was a class in brilliance.

And they were introduced in the U.S. on PBS....
And they came from England.
Talk about contradictions of terms.

I first watched them by accident on a local PBS channel. (in 1969 I think)
John Cleese always described his sense of humor as, anger turned sideways.

Would have been 1974. That’s when they first showed it on KERA in Dallas. I stumbled into it in 1975.

And I remember the first episode I watched…

My daughter is in the school musical "into the woods", and I got to watch the first dress rehearsal on Sunday...

In a few scenes, a prince "gallops" in, with a side kick banging two empty halves of coconuts....

99% of the kids will have no idea how brilliant that is....

Life of Brian also.

I had a business seminar a few years ago. The speaker was giving a good presentation, but he had widdle bit of a wisp. I couldn't leaning over to my partner and whispering "Welease Woger!". I felt lousy because nearly everyone picked up on it. I didn't want to mess up the man's thing. He heard it, lowered his head, brought it back up and screamed "Well, what about Woderic?' We laughed for 10 minutes.
