Sweat has yet to be unleashed. His ceiling could very well be extremely high. He is currently our best pash rusher and is a very good run defender. You will receive very good value for a 2nd rounder. Now you have to pay him what he wants to retain him for the next 5 years. I would have rather traded Young than Sweat.

I agree. Sweat is a great run stopper and is always available.

I don't get the fascination with Young here that I see sometimes.

Yes, he is very talented but he free lances too much and is availability is always in question. You just wait for him to get hurt.

Availability always trumps ability IMO. I think because Young was the #2 overall pick, some fans continue to hold on to that hoping he becomes the player they thought he was going to be.

I think we should trade him.

Nice trade. Is it the Bears 2nd rounder or the Panthers 2nd rounder the Bears got in trade last year?

As of now that pick is 37. Not bad. Hate to see Sweat go.

Interested to see what the run defense looks like moving forward.

Interested to see if Toohill can step up and keep us from having to draft an edge early.

Saved about 20m.....no excuse not to fix this line the right way through FA and the draft.

What's done is done. The Bears 2nd is about as good a return you could hope for.

Sweat is a really good player. They cannot afford to miss with this pick.

Considering who is running the show in DC, this is a great trade.

The Second rounder will be in the top ten of that round, which means it's a top 50 pick overall.

Drafted Sweat late in the first round and traded him for a pick between 10-20 picks later than what he was drafted, AND saved the team a bunch of cap space.

Weird move for the Bears though.

Pro Football Network has the Bears with 2, 3, 37, and 68, so i dont think so.

I dont believe the team will trade both Sweat and Young. That seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

With Sweat traded, the Commanders have cap flexibility and a chance for the players they drafted to shine. Maybe Toohill is for real? Maybe Smith Williams? Maybe Obada? Maybe the rookie from this year?

No reason to trade Young unless you get a first. Even then, I wouldn't trade him unless you get more than one draft pick. Why?

Bears gonna give you all a first for Young too. That's my life baby. It's gonna happen.

Maybe young said he wants out or his agent did.

His body language and tone in the post game eagles interview was pathetic. Just my opinion.

Maybe they have approached young about an extension and he said forget about it or he wants to test the market. I dont know.
