The young people of today are whiny, pansy-assed bitches. Oh boo-boo...he doesn't want his body to ache. He'd rather study Chomsky and make podcasts. Thanks for contributing to society, ya fruitcake bastard.

My shoulder hurts so bad I can barely lift my arm. My knees ache. I have seizures. I about died this June in a car accident and I was working days later. FUCK these young people today. I can't stand them.

You're a Buckeye homer..... I'm sure you loved you some Robert Smith back in the day -- Before he quit to become a doctor. And then come back when he realized he wasn't smart enough.

I liked Eddie George better! But, yes, Robert Smith was the shit.

Are they putting something in the water that is turning these young people into retards and pussies or what? We live in a disgusting time. I dare my son to even attempt to act this way.

It's definitely difficult to understand his motivation. Nobody would blame the guy if he quit after the season -- It wouldn't even make headlines. But he was given a spot on a limited roster (teams can only keep 53) and now he's walking away when it's too late to get someone else. How long until a key player walks away DURING a game? Imagine if Seneca Wallace did it the other night with no other back-up left to play for GB? I think we'll see something like this in the next decade.

You haven't made millions in the process. If you had, you'd be home all day drinking shit instead of working. Don't lie.

After taxes Moffitt hasn't even made a milly, either. He's a quitter. He's also, apparently, a hippie.

You're right about take-home pay, but he's still got a lot more in the bank than most of us ever will have. That makes it a lot easier to walk away.

We're really a nation of quitters. We get divorced and quit jobs like nobody's business.

Reminds me of John Ogden of the Ravens a few years back. "oh my aching toe, I don't know if I can play. I have a young impressionable toddler at home who is learning to walk with a limp because of my aching toe. And my wife likes me to wear stylish Italian loafers when we go out and won't give me any if I wear flip flops because my toe grosses her out because it has been reduced to an ooozing, stinky fly attracting blob when I barbeque out, I think I need to retire"
Come on, man up people, Kramer speaks the truth.

Should we be surprised. We've allowed this nation to become a nation of entitled babies. If you don't like what you're getting, instead of working harder for it, just quit and find someone else who will just give it to you.

If you don't like your wife anymore, instead of trying to work things out, just quit, and find someone else (preferably younger and with a nice sized rack) :)

It doesn't help that the government turns this nation into entitled pansies who can get money for not working and creating reliance on subsidies and welfare as opposed to actually working.

But, I digress....

Why do some people get so angry about what others do? Is it just because they're jealous that they dont get the opportunity to play pro ball?

It's his life. If he doesn't want to play football and do something else, more power to him. As far as replacing his spot on the roster, it wont be that tough.

You make it sound like guys are the ones to mostly blame for divorces in the US. Unless of course, you are stating that women are divorcing men for young hotter women with big racks also. :yahoo:

I am not sure why everyone cares either. Maybe he has better plans beyond football and doesn't want any lingering effects from the sport later in his life.

What if the Hiesman trophy winner, who was expected to be the next Peyton Manning and was expected to be the #1 overall draft pick said after graduation...

I am not entering the draft, because I have no intentions of playing pro football, I want to become a doctor, and I am continuing my higher education to pursue that.

Is he quitting on football, the fans, himself? Should he be expected to play pro football just because he is so good and train to be a doctor after football where all those hits could cause keep him from potentially being a doctor? I mean hell, he could get drafted by Jacksonville, then he would be screwed. haha

Just because Moffitt started playing football, decided, this is not the path in which I want to go down, why shouldn't he have the right to quit when he wants? Everyone in America has the right to quit their job and pursue other opportunities, that is teh great thing about America. You are not forced to do soemthign you are not wanting to do. Some of us feel forced, because we just have limited options, but that doesn't mean we can't pursue other endeavors when we feel the need to. You have one life, make the best of it. Don't stick with a job you don't like just so you are not classfied a "quitter". If you have no option, that is one thing, but don't call everyone else a quitter if you can't risk taking a chance on soemthing new because your security is too high with your current job, even though you hate it.

Know what I mean?

If you were a valuable member of a team that had a valuable assignment for a particular project, it would be tremendously poor form to walk out in the middle of the project. This would be the case if you were a doctor, an engineer, a teacher, or any other profession. He dedicated himself to filling a valuable role with a team in 2013 -- There are only 53 spots available and when you keep one guy you release the next most qualified who may then be picked up by one of your competitors. When you quit in the middle of the season, you cause a dip in productivity/knowledge and you hurt the ability of your now 'former' team to perform their jobs. It's not okay and we shouldn't applaud him for doing it.
