You declined, If I recall correctly.

Just the way the draft fell in this scenario. Hearing that Dallas is really high on Randall and the only logical place to select him is in the 2nd. Ajayi could be the pick, word is they really like him too. It's just there are more good RB's than Safeties.

As much as I like Peters, I'll trade his marginally better talent for Johnson's better attitude

I declined betting for something, but just a friendly bet to see who guessed right is never an issue.

If I saw the talent difference as only marginal I'd agree with you.

Jarntt, I guess I'm a bit higher on Kevin Johnson than you. Again, I recognize what kind of talent Peters is, the kid can play. I just worry about someone who can't take coaching and gets into arguments with his coaches. Seems like a me-first kind of guy. With McClain, Hardy, Randle, Brent and (to a much lesser extent) Dez already in the fold I would rather have the guy you don't have to worry about. This team has enough guys to keep in check.

Don't disagree. Just think Peters could be special. If he is off their draft board I'm fine with that. If he is on it...just take him

If Dallas can get their hands on either one of these guys, we should count ourselves as very fortunate. Either one of Johnson or Peters would step right in and start for Dallas. I really hope we can land one of these guys.

corner still looks good to me at 27.
Wonder if the Bama safety slips to 27

Maybe, but looks like a perfect fit for Pitt. Here is my concern. He probably starts for us at SS day 1. Church sucks when asked to play deep, but has been OK when allowed to play like an in the box SS and I think Wilcox will be a good SS once he minimizes the mistakes - he's come a long way for a guy that was so inexperienced and needed to learn at the NFL level. So from a talent point of view I like Collions, but is he what we need is what I wonder. I still think our biggest safety need is a true centerfielder. I wanted a FS for a long, long time but I am not a big fan of this years safeties.

Collins looks like a stud. I don't see him getting past Pittsburgh under any circumstances. That said, I don't want him in Dallas. Collins wouldn't fix our problem. We would then have three SS and still no FS.

I have read a couple reports that say Dallas thinks Damarious Randall is the best S in the draft. If that is what Marinelli and McClay think then put me in that group.

A lot of scouts feel Collins would be great at FS, though he is a natural SS. In the Cowboys 2 deep scheme, he could play beside Church, IMO anyway. Probably a moot point, should be long gone

I'm good with the opinions of Marinelli and McClay.
Not the biggest Barry Church fan. Maybe corner, safety type guy like Byron Jones at 27

Another guy that I really like, who could maybe be had in the 4th round, is Kurtis Drummond from Michigan State. 6'1 cover safety with great hands, he can really play the ball in the air. Might be a tad slow for the NFL, but I bet he would be great covering the better receiving TE's in the league.

he could be but isn't he considered something of a headcase?

Lord only knows...most list him as the 4th corner. That usually is off the board when Dallas picks again at 50 something. It's gotten to the point where all the evaluations and draft forecasts mean very little. Like every year at this time....watered down greatly. I don't really care all that much about perceived value from all the kipper types. I just want good football players that contribute this season

Cheers to that! :suds:

Would you prefer Jones to Johnson? How about to Peters?

I only want peters if he is good in zone. He lacks speed although has good ball skills. That cb from Florida state Darby would be a steal at 27. Then add ifo at 60 and throw the "trash".to the curb.
