I'm still in for Nos' original idea. A suggestion otherwise to add in to the mix...

College/States Draft - I think something similar was floated around not too long ago...

4 NFL players who's final year of college ball was played in each of the following 6 states or state bundles...

So 4 each from...
-Florida
-Texas
-California
-Michigan/Ohio/Pennsylvania
-N. Carolina/S. Carolina
-Georgia/Alabama/Louisiana

Other/better state combos could prob be made that's just off top off head

Might work better as 3 each from 8 bundles...

Florida/Georgia
N. Carolina/S. Carolina
Alabama/Louisiana
Ohio/Michigan
Texas/Oklahoma
California/Arizona
Tennessee/Virginia/W. Virginia
Pennsylvania/New York/Massachusetts

Thoughts?

You will draft a team of 24. 12 on offense and 12 on defense. You decide on positions but it's suggested you try to put together a full team, don't draft 7 QB's!

You will only draft players who were drafted in the 1980's, if the player wasn't drafted they had to have played their first game in the 1980's!

You will also be given FOUR Wild Card Picks! These can be players from any decade. You may trade your Wild Card Picks.

I like this decade idea more than just going all non-HOF teams basically. But I love the 4 WC's to mix it up...lets go

What would you guys think about the next draft being a Super Draft of college football and college basketball?

I was going to suggest a baseball debut yr. draft. Similar to the football 1 we did a few weeks ago. Draft 20 players with debut yrs. in the 1900's. You can pick from any year but you can only choose a year once.

How about a baseball cap draft of a different sort

Lineup(9) can have a max of career 1800 HR's
Rotation(5) can have a total of career 750 wins
Bullpen(5) can have a total of career 500 saves
All players who started their career before 2005 are eligible
The End

That’s a great idea @UK Cowboy
Thanks buddy, I really like that it's a simple concept but still restrictive. I am thinking I might be a little low on the pitching numbers, thinking 800 wins and 700 saves might be better, as 500 saves eliminates a couple of the top relievers. I think the 1800 HR's is perfect though. What do yall think, expand the pitching slightly?

I like the idea... but a few SMALL adjustments...

I don't like how the HR limit, we can CHEAT and get Dead ball era guys...

so I would probably increase the HR limit to an even 2000 and move the player pool window to 1930-2005(also knocks out Babe ruth from being available)

I think 750 is perfect number for wins...

We can change the numbers to our liking but I like this little spin on a cap-like idea.

Like Milk said I think we could raise the HR's up a little but since this is the first time we are doing this draft I think dead ball era guys should be allowed.

Rotation looks good.
Bullpen, like you said, could raise it to 600 or 700.

Excellent idea.

I would be open to lowering the HR total and including dead ball players.

750 is perfect.

I think 500 works, I like drafts where we eliminate some players. I think it's common knowledge I hate super drafts.

I think we could add something for hits or a number of .300 avg guys, something to restrict the players of yesteryear.
