Here's a the thing to look out for on Thursday Night, if Houston is unable to trade the pick look for them to select OLB Khalil Mack with the 1st Overall pick instead of DE Jadeveon Clowney. One of the main reason Houston opted not to re-sign Mario Williams was because he was a 4-3 End who didn't fit their 3-4 System. And with the Rams stocked at the DE position with Chris Long and Robert Quinn it's possible that Clowney could far to the Jags at the 3rd spot.

I'd be happy with Shazier. He and Burfict would make a fantastic pair of nickel LB's.

I don't necessarily disagree with your mock draft, but I have a hard time seeing Jacksonville passing on Bortles. Their QB situation is atrocious, Bortles is from the Central Florida area and would feel more at home I think in Jax. He has the best prototypical size for a top drafted QB. If Jacksonville could fix their QB situation, all of a sudden Drew becoems better, Blackmon becomes better, t hat whole offense purrs a little bit more. The hardest position to fill in the NFL. I just do not see them passing, but maybe I am looking at their situation all wrong and they don't need the QB.

Maybe they would be interested in trading up to #24 to grab Bridgewater, for their 2014 2nd round pick, 2014 4th round pick, 2015 1st round pick. However, I would almost rather keep our pick if Shazier, Dennard, Fuller is still on the board.

They'll draft Manziel at #1.

You're an idiot! There isn't a single QB worth a top 10 pick in this Year's draft. What's driving them up is need and we all know how that turned out in 2011 when Locker, Gabbert and Ponder all went in the top 15. If teams were smart they would get a position player first and then trade back into the tail end of the 1st Round, so they can get the 5th Year of a contract, or wait until the 2nd Round to get their signal caller. You can get a really good one later without any considerable drop-off. All you guys clamoring for Manziel are going to be solely disappointed! Manziel = Tebow minus the swag!

Late 1st Round
Derek Carr
Teddy Bridgewater

2nd Round/3rd Round QB
Tom Savage
Jimmy Garoppolo
AJ McCarron
Zach Mettenberger
Aaron Murray

I'm pretty sure kramer's not serious about that.

Manziel is reported to be a more accurate passer than Tebow though

Manziel will be a good fantasy QB though, he's going to be a Cam Newton/Rg3 player who never seems to catch up with Russel Wilson.

It's not just 'reported,' but well known fact. Manziel's accuracy and mechanics shouldn't even be mentioned with Tebow.

and I am definitely not a JF fan.

So, are you guessing that GMs actually learned something between 2011 and now?

It only takes one team to draft a qb to get teams anxious..... There could be a run on them on the first night.

Manziel will be drafted #1 or #2 at worst. Bortles will go in the top 6 or 7. Bridgewater won't make it past #12.

Manziel will assuredly be the 1st QB taken, though.

I would draft the kid. He is a competitor and has the arm strength. And most importantly for a QB, he keeps his head up and scans the field, even while moving all over the place. That is what makes him most lethal, I think.

Most of Manziel’s time at Texas A&M was spent taking snaps from either shotgun or pistol sets. Consequently, he has very limited experience taking snaps from under center. Along with having limited experience taking snaps from under center, Manziel also has limited experience turning his back to the defense, resetting his eyes and feet, and making throws in the play-action game. It is important that Manziel works hard on all of the facets of playing under center as he prepares for the NFL Draft.

Dallas will take him 1st round if no one else does

he can sit behind romo for a year or two the way young sat behind montana
no, I'm not saying Romo is Montana, but Manziel could have some potential.

My worry about JM, if I were a team looking to draft him, is more about his issues outside of football and if he is focused 100% on football. I'm honestly not so sure about that, and with many limitations in front of him (size, build, schemes, etc...) you need a QB who is going to be 100% focused on doing whatever is needed to overcome those hurdles. Not trying to sneak into frat parties, and leaving camps designed to help him early because he drank too much the night before.
