no cobb was not technically a lead off... but that's because he was the best player in baseball... the same way Trout is no longer a lead off and will never be seen as one... But Cobb's numbers scream leadoff to me... High OBP and he steals bases... that was most of his game... he was not a power hitter(nobody really was back then), but I am not sure if he played in modern baseball if he would have ever become a 15+ HR a season player... I see him to be a OBP machine and a speedster... and he is THE BEST ever at that IMO...

For his time he was a power hitter. (Only guy to win the Triple Crown without an over the fence home run.)

I bet he'd hit 25 a year in today's game.

Actually i'm serious... He was mad that everyone loved Babe for hitting home runs and was quoted saying he could hit more home runs if he chose too. I think he went out and hit 4 home runs in a 3 game series or something to prove his point.
