He's more valuable because there are less good lead off hitters not because he's the better player.

Kirby was a better hitter, better fielder, had a better arm and wasn't made of glass, Lofton was faster, the end!

Kirby played in 140 games or more 9 times in 12 seasons.

Lofton was top 10 in MVP voting 1 time in 17 seasons.

Nonsense, Twins made the playoffs in 2 of the 7 seasons he finished top 10. Finishing closer to last than first in 3 of those seasons.
