That was my point... Although I disagree totally... I think beltre is over-rated offensively... Defensively, he is special, but you don't need special when you have good

Solid average(not Boggs of course), far more power and blows him away on D. Overall, not close IMO

don't talk beltre up to be a great power hitter... he only had 4 seasons of 30 or more HRs, only 3 seasons of over .900 OPS... that is nothing great...

Don't get me wrong, he is definitely one of the greatest 3B of all time, and a clear cut HOFer... But when comparing him to Boggs, Boggs does his game MUCH better than Beltre did his...

Boggs is a 2 or 3 hitter... Beltre is at best a 5 hitter...

Not comparing the power of Beltre to Boggs... But I am comparing who was better at their specific game... Beltre is a "power" hitter, Boggs was an on base machine...

I have said this before, if boggs had even average power or 15 SB speed, he would be considered a top 10 player of all time...
