I don't know about ya'll. But poverty is a pain. And living in South Carolina, we don't get a chance to see much hockey. I've only been to one Carolina Hurricane's game. My girlfriend's been to a few more. So minor league hockey is about as good as it gets around here.

We go fairly often to see our local ECHL team. The Greenville Road Warriors. They ain't tops in the league. But they are pretty good.

Live hockey is about the most awesome thing you can see in sports. The athletes might not be as elite level of NHL, but minor league hockey and college hockey can be just as exciting to watch as the NHL.

Good to have another ECHL attendee around here. I saw Greenville play earlier this season when they made a stop in Ft Wayne to play my Komets.

I've tried to keep an ECHL thread going on this board for the past two seasons, so feel free drop in on it & to talk about your latest trip to a game &/or team news. :)

I've gone to a few Stockton Thunder games. They're fun and WAY cheaper than catching a Sharks game (downside is that you do have to go to Stockton for it).

In fact a couple of weeks ago my beer league team rented out the ice at the Stockton arena and hosted a drop in game. We went out for beer afterward and then came back and caught the game. It was a lot of fun.

I was lucky enough to spend some time playing for the Reading Royals in between 01-03 but had to give it up due to college and work. I never really thought I'd make pro by that point but I loved the game so much I just wanted to keep playing it and my college only had a club team so it wasn't really competitive. I can say the fans who came out were really passionate and it was an awesome opportunity that I'll never forget. It also was a great alternative after I made Kitchner but even being presented with the opportunity to taken in by a sponsoring family I wouldn't have been able to afford it coming from a lower middle class family and I also would have had to sacrifice my education at Drexel university. I'd love to see the ECHL turn more into something closer to juniors honestly but again it was a great experience.
