They're killing Trestman over there for going for a 47 yarder on 2nd down when Forte was ramming it down their throats. I can't say that I blame them. That was some dumb shit. I can see it on 3rd down so you get another shot if the snap is messed up. But the Bears were rolling. I'd already conceded them the game .. hence the thread.

Its because he thought he was still in the CFL.....and kicking on 2nd down is like kicking it on 3rd down in the NFL in that situation.....i was wondering how long before he accidently punted on 3rd down this yr, but i guess kicking on 2nd was just as good.


But yeah...the chicago media is already bashing him for a 2nd down kick.

Yes it was a stupid call kicking 47 harder on 2nd down. Maybe a chip shot but a 47 harder is not a gimme.

As bad as it was it still wasn't taking the wind in overtime!

From the Bears perspective, trying on second down allowed a little flexibility to recover from a botched snap. Usually Gould is money from 50 yards and in, especially in a dome. Perhaps the being up with the birth of his son that morning between midnight and 2 AM combined with his flying in to make the game had an impact on his accuracy. The Vikings as a team persevered, the fan base is pretty split over beating a rival versus getting a better draft choice. I'm just hoping the fans keep pushing for the draft choice - cultures of losing are hard to break out of, as the Detroit fan base should know all too well. Restore the Roar - Detroit needs to instill winning ways.
